Natural Boar Shave Brush, 1 Count

First and for most, amazon save me with this item. I have been looking for another one of these brushes at target where I originally bought the set and it has not been in stock in any stores for forever, shipping was a little more than what I wanted to pay at the time and thought eventually they would bring them back to stores. NOPE. 5 months later I decided to check out amazon. It was cheaper here than in store. Same product, holds up great and does its job. My husband loves this product. I would def. recommend.

It's not a silver tip badger bristle brush, but it's a nice brush for the money. I'm happy with it so far, [1 month]. BamBam-

Very nice brush for the price. I'm using it for another purpose than shaving (applying lubricant to metal parts), but it works well.

I’ve been using this brush barely three months and it just fell apart in my hand. This company used to make quality products. I have one of their earlier brushes that has lasted years. What the heck happened?

Good shave soap brush. Had an old Van Der Hagan brush. used it for nearly 7 years until I had to replace it. This one was stiff at first but has since loosened up.

I bought this to replace my previous shaving brush which had a section of the bristles fall out the last time I used it. They are essentially the same. The new one has a green handle rather than "ivory" colored and has the Van Der Hagen logo on the top of the handle where my old one didn't. I had the old one since maybe 2004. I paid less for it than this new one but, it has become difficult to find shaving brushes in stores anymore unless they are part of a shaving kit. Even the kits are not easy to find in brick and mortar stores these days. This new one seems to have lost more of the bristles within the first few uses compared to what I remember of when my old one was new (but memories are not always accurate). I give 4 out of 5 for an overall rating because of the price and the number of bristles that have come out so quickly (I just hope there aren't too many more loose ones left). Granted, it is expected that some of the hairs will come out with pretty much any shaving brush when it is new. I am basing this on how many have come out so soon. I give 2 out of 5 stars on value for the money because this is not exactly a high-end product. Even though it is among the least expensive shaving brushes I have found it could stand to be a few dollars less. As for durability, again the 3 out of 5 stars is based on how many loose hairs have come out. I have used the brush 5 times since receiving it. I am hoping the loose hairs have finished coming out and that this lasts at least as long as my previous shaving brush. Hey, it would be "nice" if it lasts as long as my Dad's old shaving brush which I think is over 60 years old (though a totally different brand). UPDATE: I just used my brush within the last hour and had a clump of hair come out as I was shaking the excess water out before putting it away. I took a photo and made a short video which, hopefully, are now attached to this review. In the video, I say that I got the brush earlier this year (2020) but, in checking my past orders I see that I got it late last year. I actually placed the order on October 20, 2019. In any event, this brush has been losing far too many bristles since I received it and it shows no signs that this is slowing down. I am changing my rating to three stars rather than four. If I could I would only give 2 and a half stars. I still feel it deserves a few stars. However, if it doesn't stop losing bristles I may have to change my rating to no stars.

My husband was given one of these years ago in a gift set. He loved it. Just ordered him the replacement. Works so well. Vey soft and has been very durable.

The brush itself is certainly a value priced brush and the bristles are a little stiff. But based one brushes I have used in the past they will soften a bit over time. I use the Williams Mug Shaving Soap with mine, and have found the combination to be very nostalgic as these were the same products that I remember seeing and smelling at my grandparents homes back in my formative years. Nostalgia alone however is not a good enough reason to buy a utility product. This brush meets my expectations at its price point and plan on buying another one just like it in about 2 years -- 2 cents a shave is a bargain price, especially when you compare that the the cost of blades these days.

Brocha suave, que hace buena espuma desde la primera vez. Cómoda por su tamaño, un poco mayor a las comunes.

This brush is good for use for any shaving cream needing a brush to retain water (check), easy to handle (check) and drys well (check)

Es la primera que consigo y estuve leyendo que hay algunas que huelen mal al ser mojadas, no es el caso con esta, las cerdas se han abierto un poco con unos usos, pero no le veo nada de malo, me gusto. Actualización: La brocha empezó a perder sus cerdas a los 5 meses y la verdad es que no la uso más de una o dos veces a la semana (poco bello facial), pero una vez que comenzó no se ha detenido y supongo que sera la tendencia hasta que se acabe o me deshaga de ella. En general es buen producto si lo que quieres es probar si este tipo de afeitado es para ti (como yo), pero si te puedes permitir una de mayor vida útil deberías. Bajo la calificación de 5 a 4 estrellas puesto que para el uso que tuvo duro muy poco, aunque en relación al precio me sigue pareciendo aceptable.

Nice shave brush

I know boar brushes are prone to losing bristles, but I couldn't even apply any soap without getting about 30 bristles on my face each time. do yourself a favor and get a decent badger brush. this one wont last for more than ten shaves.
