No this model does not have a grind mode.

Q: Will the 9100xxi filter fit in this hood?

No. It comes with the #06-0000-21NC variable shade filter. Please contact the 3M Techline at 800-243-4630 with questions. Thank you.

Q: My speedglas 9100xxi broke, it had a shade 13 that used for flux core. Even at 13, the arc was still pretty bright. Will shade 12 in this helmet hold?

I use 10, my helmet goes to 12 which is to dark for these old eyes. If you want darker than 13 then you might wear a pair of sunglasses under this hood. I’ve forgotten and left my safety glasses on, there was no problem with them under the hood.
