Stops Esophagus Spasms Effectively
This actually works. They're easy to chew. This helps soothe my esophagus preventing me from getting spasms. Tastes good while not being overly sweet or chalky. I find they work immediately which is an added bonus. Good value for money.

Take it for LPR
I started taking this for managing my LPR. I also wanted to compare it to Esophageal Guardian. Let me say that both versions of the alginic acid mix have helped me. However Esophageal Guardian‘s strawberry extract causes my taste buds to sometimes get inflamed the same way that sour candy does. I found the marshmallow extract to sit better on my tongue than the strawberry extract. I take this product after lunch and dinner, and noticed a significant decrease in my LPR symptoms if I am consistent. Sometimes I match it with 5mg of famotidine. I wouldn’t say it’s better than Esophageal Guardian, but is equal and an alternative if the strawberry extract causes your tastebuds to get inflamed. I will say the last batch of Esophageal Guardian had too much excess powder in the bottle. I haven’t experienced that yet with Esophasoothe.

provides some relief
I use this for reflux (LPR specifically) -- it is a decent product with alginic acid but it is more expensive than it should be. this should be readily available manufactured in the USA for less money.

PopRocks meets Sweetarts
Love it for my acid reflux problem! My doctor recommended alginate products. I was originally using Gaviscon liquid but didn't like that it had aluminum in it. Found EsophaSoothe and thought I would try it. I have been using it for about 3 years. I have to admit they're a little weird. Think PopRocks meets Sweetarts with a touch of chalkiness. As you chew them they start to foam. Make sure you drink the amount of water they recommend on the label. How they work is the foam floats on top of your stomach contents, and that's what refluxes instead of stomach acid. Only downside is the cost. I wish they were a bit cheaper.

Saves side effect of prescription
This saves wife of side effects of a prescription that depletes calcium. Doctors do not tell you these things they just get paid by big pharma to prescribe their nasty pills.

Taste is absolutely vile
Edit: I came back to give it one extra star because it does have a higher concentration of alginate than other OTC’s so it works better, I just hoped it helped prevent feeling like vomiting without making me want to. I can only take one tablet and follow it up with one luxuriously chalky Gaviscon Extra Strength (to get rid of the after taste) right before bed to help with acid reflux. I believed the reviewer who said it was like chalky sweet tarts, the flavor is no where near that pleasant and the after taste is horrid. Usually that wouldn’t matter too much, but when you can’t drink or eat anything afterwards, it’s not exactly a taste you want to get stuck with. And to think I thought Gaviscon was bad, this definitely put things in perspective!
