This is a very good mount. Doesn’t seem cheap to me. A reviewer here posted a picture of a broken mount post saying that the walls for the tube are thin. He possibly installed his mount on a vertical wall and then put something heavy on it which caused his to break. This mount is meant for ceiling mount not wall mount. I believe the tube is of an adequate thickness. Tube thickness of what you would get on a good quality photography tripod stand. I also like the metal ring which I believe was meant as an added safety anchor so you can tie your equipment down. Over all excellent mount although a bit pricey in my opinion for the pair.

I have my own YouTube channel and before I bought the these mounts, I use the floor stands that came with the lighting. The more stands on the ground the more clutter and likelihood of kicking or tripping over the legs and cables. Now have these mounted to the walls and the cables against the walls. And I get the same lighting everytime now.

One arrived damaged just like this. They look deceptively strong with a thick baseplate, but a crack in the column reveals just how thin the walls are on these. These mounts are not worth their weight in scrap.

I think it's pretty straight forward. If you are looking to hang your lights from the wall or ceiling to avoid having stands on the ground.. these are for you. built well. Easy to instal.
