A Giraffe and a Half

Adorable, hilarious book by Shel Silverstein! Bought for a giraffe loving girl and it was perfect for her :)

I’ve been a fan of Shel Silverstein since childhood. I love this book and I loved reading it to my kids. They always loved how crazy it gets. I was excited to give this as a baby gift as I know the new mom will love reading it to her son, too.

Love, Love this book! Bought for our grandson and cannot wait to read it to him. He'll get a kick out of Silverstein's silliness in this book. Shel Silverstein is excellent for children's imagination.

Love this book and was so glad I could share it with a loved one who absolutely loves giraffes.

I saw this book on a person's Instagram page I follow on her story. Her Son is the same age as mine & I thought he would enjoy this. He does & so do I. I'm just now hearing of this Classic Author. I will purchase more of his books.

This is one of my favorite books to read. I love the silliness of this Shel Silverstein book. The repetition and rhymes are perfect for preschoolers and older elementary alike. By the end of the book the kids are repeating the silliness of boy and giraffe as I read. Love, Love Love the fluency this book encourages. The dust cover is a nice print and heavy gloss cover. The binding of the book is great. This book will be able to be enjoyed over and over! A great value and an amazing book!

A present for someone who will appreciate it. The sellers were professional in their approach - this was an import for me. It took a while, but well worth the wait.

I'm a bit disappointed because the image shown here of the cover suggest that the book is in color but neither the illustrations inside nor the cover of my copy are. Nonetheless, Giraffe and a half is a very beautiful and funny poem and the illustrations are lovely. I've never read it as a child, never heard of it before... so when I read it today for the very first time I got one big laugh at the end of it - not because of the story (which is also very funny) but because it's actually mathematical incorrect: After the giraffe was streched another half, you would have a giraffe and a half. So far so good. You would have 1.5 giraffes But then the giraffe shrank another half and you would once again have a giraffe, when infact the half of 1.5 of a giraffe would be 0.75 of the giraffe... so you would have less giraffe at the end of the story... although I think that is to be expected after all the trauma and hardship that poor giraffe went through. :-)

mild wear and tear but for a used book I am happy with my purchase. A great book for little ones to add to your collection
