Time saver. Peace of mind
Love the scanner! It saves me lots of time when packing a shipment. Peace of mind that I know what is in each box.

A nice simple scanner
This is a great little scanner. It reads UPC and QR code just fine. I like that it can be set to be silent. The negatives, why it doesn't have five star, are:1. It does not add a suffix to the scan telling what kind of bar code it read.2. When it uploads the scans, from batch mode, it is very slow. Like a 2400 baud modem.3. Configuration, setting the mode and commanding it to download or clear the batch scans requires the instruction sheet that comes with it. DON'T LOSE IT.All of these are tolerable.Key is, it does the job I need.

Working scanner and unbeatable value (see details). Conditionally recommended
I'm going to date myself a bit here, but I've been working with barcode scanners for a long time. While many people used them in point-of-sale environments, I focused on industrial applications. A rugged, wireless Symbol laser scanner could easily be over $600 - and that was a 1D scanner!Through that lens, the Valcora 1D 2D Wireless Barcode Scanner is pretty remarkable. I tried the scanner with both the corded and 2.4Ghz USB dongle connection. In both instances, the scanner just showed up as a regular HID peripheral, and acted as a keyboard wedge. I didn't try the batch-type "storage" mode, though I don't know how useful that would be without any type of screen or UI. While the wireless range is quite good, I don't know what benefit that has when you can't see the computer's screen for feedback. As far as the operation goes, we're past the days of a spinning mirror and a laser. Instead, there's a CCD and a couple illuminators. The scanner essentially just being a camera makes it perfect for 2D scanning. Since my project was working on encoding ERP system work instructions into matrix codes, this was perfect. The performance of the Valcora is fine. It's 1D performance is not as good as the laser scanners of yesteryear, as it's extremely sensitive to the scanning distance. 6-8" seems to be the sweet spot for most 1D barcodes. This will definitely not work with specialty reflective, long-distance scanning barcodes. 2D works out to farther distances (during my use), but there are other problems... there's a small red line that show approximately there the scanning window is, but it only shows up at shallow scanning distances - it's also not well aligned. The issue is that, when you are scanning on a sheet of barcodes (especially 2D ones, you can't really be sure which one it scanned). Laser scanners, or at least ones with a laser reticle, generally show you the center and corners of your scanning window. I worked around this by covering up the other barcodes, but that's a bit of a PITA. Like most scanners, the Valcora comes with a book of barcodes for changing modes, altering symbologies supported, simulated input speed, etc.Ok, so my general thoughts are that this is an interesting product at its $30 price point. The low cost makes it super accessible, while the interface options make it attractive from a connectivity standpoint. Still, to a certain extent you DO get what you pay for - this is not a high-performance scanning solution. It's also not industrially hardened to survive 1m drops to concrete. However, if you just need a basic scanner, and don't plan on scanning amidst other barcodes, this could be the solution for you. One fairly conspicuous feature omission is the lack of Bluetooth... while that feature can tack on another $20 to the purchase price of the scanner, it may be worth it if you intend to use the device with tablets or phones at some point. Conditionally recommended.

Did not work for me
Was trying to use with a square POS system but it didn’t work. I tried the wireless and wired connection and it was not recognized so I cannot speak to its capabilities.

Buen producto

No funcionó
Se ve de buena calidad, y me permitió emparejarlo al dongle que trae, y leer la hoja de configuraciones. Pero cuando intenté escanear un código de barras de un ticket de costco, simplemente no lo detectaba.
