A long time ago (*maybe 4 or 5 years ago) I saw the gasket leaking and put some rubber strip around the whole thing... and after 4 hours I fixed the leak.. I had Ghost flushing recently so I decided to open up the toilet and saw the water level was too high.. I was taking out the THU134 fill valve to adjust the level (counterclockwise to lower level on the yellow phillips head top) and the red clip snapped at the worst spot. I called up toto to ask what to do but their tech help didn't really give any good info.. I left it alone for a few days and ordered a replacement THU134 .. I found that a paper clip could be used on the top of the BLACK part attached to the toilet. There is a hole there to push the red piece down thankfully! (*WISH TOTO TECH TOLD ME ABOUT THIS) After removing.. I put parts in the dishwasher to clean them and found the LEAK was back! (*ya.. I was ballsy to do that) I took out and replaced with the new THU134 ... I ordered the $11 Geret gasket piece everyone is talking about.. in case it starts to leak 2 or 3 years from now.. :( I looked at the piece and put it in and i'm not sure it will be good enough to stop the leaking... I guess I will come back here in 2 to 3 years to add to this review.. I am only writing this review in order to help anyone else out there with similar issues. Just like everyone else I wish the gasket (*probably 20 cents to make) was sold separately by TOTO.. Update.. realized I should have added in some gel silicone around that washer.. oh well... maybe 3 years from now.. that's what i'll do...

Well this fixed my problem, but Toto parts are just stupidly expensive (this vendors price was excellent considering what Toto actually wants) Anyway this was a genuine Toto, fit and acted as it was supposed to - no issues with the part or the vendor Word to the wise - go buy an American Standard toilet, parts are cheap.

This part was the exact same thing as the original fill valve. However the quality of the plastic from Toto is the worst. Over time the valve will have to be replaced again as well as the flush valve. Toto plastic changes when submerged in water over time. As a plumber of 43 years I have been replacing more Toto plastic valves than any other manufacturer. The plastic parts seem to get larger causing them not to close. Cleaning them doesn't help. I have 2 Toto toilets in my house and have had to replace the fill valves after 5 years!!! And you have to use Toto replacement parts or the water level in the bowl will not have enough water in it. This will cause flushing the toilet twice.... Long story short, Don't buy a Toto toilet.

Definitely not durable but it fixed the running water problem! Great delivery and easy install.
