I bought this trainer and trainee book because it is to the point, without the blah-blah-blah you get in more recent books. I know it is of excellent quality because I was trained with it when it first came on the market in 1988/89. Yes, it is 35 years old, but it is a gem. Some folks gave some pretty condescending comments here, so let me recap: it is a wonderful book to train NEW TEACHERS. It is also great for the KNOW-IT-ALLS to check they are still doing the right things because we do tend to develop our own “methods” which not necessarily lead to better teaching or learning. It is a good idea to “forget” what we know every now and then and try to figure out if we’re still doing it the most efficient way.
