Very informative. I thought I knew abought raising chickens but I was wrong. There is a lot more to it than I thought. Especially over wintering !

Great book. Lots of information.

This is a good intro to chicken raising for someone who has never been closer than chicken sitting on a platter. Before I launch into chicken raising at our mission in Africa, I'll get a book with a little more meat.

We purchased this book to help us get a better understanding of raising chickens. We were very impressed with the amount of information that was in the book it hits all the great points on how to raise chickens straight from incubation. It has many different tips and helpful hints on all things chickens. I loved the recipes in the back of the book once the chickens start laying eggs you can use them to make anything egg related. One thing I would love to see different would be the chapter cover illistrations. Some of them are difficult to see and used twice. My children also found it very informative. I was able to show them different pictures with in the book to better explain how to care for chickens with visual. Over all we loved this book!

A good guide for beginners without getting too in depth. Covers all the basics with some anecdotes from the author.

I am planning on getting chickens this year and so I started doing some research. Found this book because of price and picked it up. It’s a quick read on raising chickens. Great book for beginners.
