Not as effective as the Furminator, but more comfortable for the pet and user friendly.
Disclaimer - I'm a veterinarian, so I know way too much about different brushes and grooming implements. I have always had a love-hate relationship with slicker brushes... love because they're effective and comfortable, and HATE because they are the absolute biggest pain in the butt to clean, especially without damaging the thin bristles, or bending them in such a way that they poke the animal uncomfortably. Now, I have a longhaired senior cat who has twice had to go under anesthesia for removal of massive hairballs. The last time, he received an Rx for a haircut from his Internal Medicine specialist. So we have been on an intensive hair management program - but he hates being brushed. So I'm constantly going through various brushes and combs. My go-to is the Furminator, but my main gripes with it are that it is uncomfortable for the cat (pulls his skin excessively at times) and its blades, even on the long-hair version, fill up with nearly every swipe. It is easy to clean, but when I have a squirming, annoyed cat in one hand, it is difficult to be constantly cleaning the blade out. But it absolutely pulls the most shed hair and undercoat with each swipe. This brush is 10x more comfortable for my cat, while still pulling a decent amount of shed hair. Cleaning it is AMAZING - just press the button, pull the pad of hair off, and it doesn't fill up until after nearly a full session of brushing. It is not taking off as much hair as the Furminator, but the fact that he doesn't get instantly annoyed and thus I can brush for longer and create a more positive experience for him is important.

Best pet fur brush
My dog hates to be brushed but will put up with this one for a short time. I love the easy cleaning, just push the button and the bristles retract leaving you a nice little pad of fur - remove & toss (unless you are making a fur sweater or some sort of pet memorabilia) - push the button again and voila, your brush is ready for use.

Works great
This brush is pretty good. It does a very good job of actually brushing your cat and being able to get rid of the fur quickly by pressing the release button on the back. My only complaint is it’s a little cheaply made.

Amazing Grooming Brush – Easy, Fast, and Gentle!
I absolutely love the Hertzko Self-Cleaning Slicker Brush! It’s hands-down one of the easiest pet grooming tools I’ve ever used. The retractable bristles make cleaning out hair a breeze—no more picking through stuck fur or making a mess. It works beautifully on both my long-haired and short-haired pets, gently removing loose hair and tangles without scratching or irritating their skin. I’ve noticed far less shedding around the house since using it regularly. The ergonomic handle is comfortable for extended grooming sessions, and the purple color is adorable. This brush is perfect for dogs and cats alike, whether you’re a pet owner managing shedding or a professional groomer. If you want an effective, easy-to-clean, and gentle pet brush, this is it. My pets actually enjoy grooming time now—highly recommend!

Good for lots of dogs
This brush is great. I have a husky that I originally bought it for, I’ve used it on a doodle and a Pomeranian it works great on all of them. The button can be hard to push after a long time. I have had one of these for 4 years and it’s still going strong. Bought one for my moms dog and she loves it as well.

Works well but the first one I bought broke!
So far ok! I thought I would give them another chance! The one before this one broke early on and I did a fix and it finally gave out. If this one breaks (handle), I will not buy again!

Makes Cats Love You
So my family has 4 cats, 2 of them long haired. The boy cat, Shadow, and my dad have been thick as thieves. My dad uses a cart as a walker and Shadow will ride it around with dad, watch TV with him, snuggle with him, etc. He was the son my dad never had. Shadow has always treated me like a booty call. In the day time in front of others? Couldn't care less about me. But 3am when he wants snuggles? Slides into my room like, "Hey you up?" just to get some pets and then leave me again. Typical boy. Only problem was Shadow's fur was getting matted. Dad insisted he had the best brush on the market, but the mats spoke for themselves. He tried other methods but Shadow wasn't a fan of those either. We tried a lion cut but he looked so sad afterwards that I will never do that to my baby again. So I did a little Google research and, after seeing some reviews, I tried this one. It's cheap, looked easy to clean, so why not give it a shot? It's been less than a week and already Shadow has forsaken dad for me. Just the first time I tried it he was a big, black fluffball purring happily away. In just a few days I've gone from side chick for snuggles to having him simp. Honestly embarrassing for him. Now any time he feels like he needs a brushing he comes up to me and meows until I give into his demands. Or comes over and puts his head in my hands. Then he just purrs and purrs as I brush him. If I stop, he insists I keep going with aggravated meows. He wants nothing to do with dad now; only brushing. Morning, middle of the day, middle of the night... time is irrelevant to him. He even gets mad if the other cats come around or dare to use HIS brush, even though they love it just as much. All my cats turn into puddles of purrs after just a few brushes. All of their coats are looking shiny and fabulous, though the increase of them catching paws with each other to get brush time has been a bit much. Other than that, I'm happy because the brush is so simple to use and easy to hold onto. Cleaning this brush of fur and dandruff is so much easier to do than normal brushes. My dad has used ones specifically for mats but I've had better success with this one thus far. It makes my short hair cats happy. It can tackle mats on my long hair cats. The cats are obsessed with this brush to the point of abandoning their bonded humans. Only real downside thus far is that I'm going to need to get another one for my dad so his feline son returns to him. So if you want to take good care of your cats coat and can handle them fighting over you, then this brush is great. 5 paws out of 5.

Easy to remove hair
I bought this dog brush for my dog because I I’ve tried other dog brushes and it’s been difficult getting all of the hair out. This one is simple to remove the hair after being used. My dog loves how it feels and I got a second one for my father who has a dog that’s sheds a lot and it makes brushing and removing his dogs hair easy. It’s worth buying.
