Best pitcher, multi-use
This pitcher is absolutely fabulous. I purchased for our rural Rocky Mountain cabin. It’s worth nothing that I have other pitchers here (a 1 -gallon Rubbermaid and a 2 gallon Pampered Chef). Those have don’t pros, like large capacity and won’t break. But neither one is very attractive, neither holds boiling water (for tea and also to make hummingbird food), and both are pretty big to use without company. This one meets ALL of our needs. Pros: nice looking, clean lines & aesthetically appealing. Won’t shatter with boiling water, not fragile/easily breakable with normal use. Just the right size for a few days of iced tea for 1-2, or perfect to serve a cocktail for dinner guests. It’s also perfect to make enough hummingbird food for 3 feeders. Cons: I didn’t get this sooner.

beautiful glass picture.
This pitcher is just beautiful. Well made not to big just right. Love the idea of the stainless cover on top that fits perfectly. I also love the fact that I can use the cover has as it has an attachment on the cover as to not let the fruit that I slice and make iced tea or just water and fresh fruit in it and the cover wont let the fruit fall out while pouring into a glass. Also very fast delivery and great packaging. Also you can pour boiling hot water for iced tea in it and it will not break. Water can be up to 300 degrees...….love this part. Cleans well and also came with a long handled sponge that is also well made to clean into the pitcher ,great item as well. Over all pitcher perfect!

It's a wonderful glass pitcher, but it dribbles out of the spout when done pouring.
I bought this Hiware to replace a plastic pitcher that had developed a leak. I wanted to get something that used more natural materials. The Hiware is made completely of glass and the top of stainless steel. The glass used feels thin, but sturdy. The stainless steel top is well made and has a strainer so you can keep loose leaf teas in the pitcher and strain it as you pour. The pitcher is squat and wide and fits well in my refrigerator. So far so good, however, the interior of the lid is hollow so when you are pouring liquids they get trapped in the lid and then when you return the pitcher to the upright position that little bit of liquid comes back down into the pitcher. When that happens some of the liquid dribbles out of the spout and down the side of the pitcher. Every time I pour myself a drink I make sure to wipe the pitcher down. The Hiware says it is hand wash only. I've washed it by hand, and it's easy to do with smooth surfaces and a large opening that you can easily fit your whole fist into. I have also washed it on the bottom rack of my Bosch dishwasher and it came out fine. My dishwasher doesn't have a heating element, so I think it's more gentle than some. All in all... a great pitcher, it just needs some attention to detail.

Great tea without the work
I love this adorable pitcher! I put loose tea and tea bags inside, fill will water, refrigerate, and ViolaI I can’t get enough the next day. I decided I needed another one for flavored water. This pitcher is made of a special glass that is a bit tougher and resistant to heat. I’ve had no leaks while pouring or leeching of loose tea flakes. My hand easily fits inside for easy clean up. There’s nothing like fresh, organic, homemade ice tea in Flirida. My current pitcher is hibiscus, green, and Jasmine mixed. My first flavored water will be watermelon/mint. A small section of fresh watermelon and mint leaves from my herb garden.

Sturdy
Nice sturdy borosilicate pitcher. I do not use on stove. Use hot water to steep tea bags & has handled addition of cold water from cooler with no problems. This lid is stainless steel with a fine sieve. Sediment gets built up due to fineness but that's what I wanted - 0 stray leaves as I leave my materials in pitcher. For the price this is an awesome value. For the price don't expect to last forever, no borosilicate does unless you're buying lab glass - at lab glass price. This is my 2nd & when this one finally breaks I will buy the same again.

Proceed with Caution
I used this to infuse water. I slice lemons, toss them in, add water, and then refill as needed. The lid has a fine mesh strainer that catches any bits of lemon which pouring. I haven’t used this to boil water in. I also haven’t used it for tea, but It would be well-suited for that, since the strainer is fine enough to catch even very fine teas. Cleaning is fairly easy. Just wipe out the inside of the pitcher and take the lid apart. The reason for the three star review is that, after a few months of light use by two adults, it broke. I specify adults because there is no chance that anyone handled it roughly or shoved things into it. I was moving the pitcher to access something else and it bumped against a heavier glass product and it cracked. It had been in the refrigerator for several days and so it wasn’t a case of rapidly changing temperatures. The damage occurred during normal use. I’m ordering a replacement because I do like the design and I’m hoping that it was just a defect in that particular pitcher. I’ll also make sure it isn’t sitting beside any other glass containers. Overall, it’s a glass pitcher and, while the description claims it’s stronger than regular glass, it still needs to be handled carefully.
