This might be different unscientific take. These pics show my Airsense Cpap and the water by it or in it. Usually because my cpap requires distilled water, my well water here clouds up in one night in the humidifier and the heater pad is solid white. It's been well over a week without cleaning the chamber and look at the water. Still water and not a cloud. My refill glass is also 2 days old and no hardness. That's pretty good results and proof enough when you can go from every day cleaning to every other week or so..Pretty impressive for a 120 plus year old well and a easy to install device put in after my 5 micron sediment membrane. I researched and that was the most optimal for my really old house and well. Love it so far.

I was very skeptical this would work but thought I would give it a shot for the ease of installation and the cost. Prior to purchasing I read many reviews stating that these devices scientifically can't work and that they are just a scam. Well, I can confidently say that these nay-sayers were wrong even though they sounded very credible in their reviews. About 2 years ago my wife and I moved into a house on its own well, with all original plumbing since it was built in 1992. The water from the well was tested to be good when we bought the house and the previous owners raved about how good the water tasted, we agreed after drinking it. Although the water tasted great, it definitely had a lot of minerals in that caused a great amount of build up on all the faucets and also in the drains, causing flow issues. Even after we replaced the shower heads and remodeled the kitchen we had white mineral build-up within a month on the new shower heads and faucets, plugging the small spray holes and disrupting the flow. After installing this device I instantly noticed an improvement of the water feeling softer in when showering and washing dishes. It definitely lathers better and leaves your skin feeling less dried out. We have had salt water softeners in the past and it made the water feel very similar. After a few days it cleared out all the newer faucets/shower heads and started to break down the build up on the older original faucets. It even caused a leak in the the drain plumbing under one of the sinks because it broke down the mineral build up in the drain around one of the old seals (I was able to fix it by just taking out the sink drain and trap, cleaning it, and just reinstalling it). Additionally, the dishwasher is not leaving spots anymore and the stainless steel sinks have less spots. After a about week we've noticed all faucets are flowing better and and the old fixtures from 1992 are shedding lots of mineral build up. We can now delay replacing them until we do the bathroom remodels we have planned for the future. The kitchen faucets now spray as they are intended to without any plugged holes. We originally installed this device with the hope of cleaning out the mineral deposits in our plumbing that has built up over the years and hopefully restore some water pressure, and after the results I have already seen I am confident that this will accomplish that. Even though the device does not remove the minerals like a salt softener it definitely descales pipes and improves the quality of the water for our use. DON'T BELIEVE the people that say its a scam or the guys who says he's an electrical engineer and his wife has a few chemistry degrees and call it a pseudoscience scam. The proof is in the results! The only regret I have is not getting the next bigger model that is rated at pipe sizes larger than 1". I assumed my pipe feeding my pressure tank was only 1" but realized it was 1 1/4" when I went to install it. Instead of returning it for the larger one, I just installed it after the pressure tank where the pipe is smaller because I didn't want to spend any more money and I was very skeptical of it working anyway. Unfortunately I won't be able to descale the water going into the pressure tank unless I buy the CWD30, I may end up buying one later on since I am now a believer! Don't be afraid to buy this product this if your goal is to descale your pipes/fixtures, it will do that. Hopefully it will also improve your the quality of your water as it did mine. I typically don't leave reviews like this, but I would have appreciated a review like this when I was researching this product. I hope it can help someone else!

Why did you pick this product vs others?: At the end of 2019 I moved into my newly remodeled condo. I had heard about these electronic devices where you wrap wires around the incoming water pipe to make the water soft. At the time I thought this was a great idea to enjoy soft water without having to buy salt for a softener. Plus this option was less expensive than buying a complete soft water system. So I spent $350 and bought this unit. I installed it correctly. I used it for several years but hard water marks always built up on both my kitchen sink and bathroom sink. I was constantly having to clean it off. Then one day my shower head started making a singing noise. Then my toilet started doing the same thing. At this point I knew I was in trouble with my plumbing. Hard water buildup was causing this singing noise to come from both appliances. So the bottom line is - this device was doing absolutely nothing to soften my water! I ended up throwing this electronic de-scaler system in the garbage. Then I bought a real soft water system that uses softener salt and I have absolutely loved it! I no longer have hard water marks on both my kitchen sink and bathroom sink. So my advice is do not waste your money by buying this system but buy a real soft water system instead that works!

I was looking for a way for me to limit the scale in my hot water heater because it was full of scale and I had to change the elements. There is a large amount of calcium in the water here that causes water spots and calcium deposits around the faucets. The fact that I can hook this up by just winding wires around a pipe makes this the perfect solution to my issues. This will be valuable to anyone who has hard water and no way to install a water softener. I paid $80 for this. This came in an attractive box with a link to an educational video on how to install. Everything was included for installation. Delivery time was 4 days with prime membership. Installation was tricky for my set up here. My pipes are tight against the wall and that made it difficult to wrap around. Several times I lost my hold on the wire and it unraveled so I needed to start over. Then when it was wound all the way, I didn’t have the tie in reach, so I had to start over again. So, installation for me was not an easy process, but not impossible. I finally got it all wrapped with ties in place and it hasn’t moved since. I don’t notice much of a change in the “feel” of the water. I do notice that I don’t have as many spots to clean or as much of a build up around the sinks, so I do believe it is helping. The real test will be next year when I do my maintenance on my hot water heater. I will be interested to see how much sediment is in the bottom of my water heater and if when I drain it chunks of calcium deposits are flushed out. I will say I can tell it is doing something because the spots are fewer than I used to have. I am hopeful that it will be useful in the long run. If it cuts down on the sediment, it will be worth everything I paid and more.

This product is designed to help specific plumbing systems, and it does very well when used in the correct application. Hard water, but not too hard. Reasonable minerals, not excessive. This applies to most wells but not all, and where you have very high levels you probably need a full softener. Also note there are two descaling systems that I can see, one that works for 50 feet (which is nothing) and one that works for 1.2 miles (the good one). Get the good one. We are on a rural well with moderate hardness and minerals in the water. 3K square foot house with well over 50 feet of plumbing. This descaler has pretty much eliminated the orange iron stains on bathroom toilets and shower and when there are water spots in sinks or on counters they wipe off easily where they used to take serious scrubbing. We have one stainless sink that always had scale buildup because the drain was not designed quite right and a bit of water pooled and did not drain. No more, the scale is far less and comes off with a light scrub where it used to take soaking in vinegar or Barkeeper's Friend overnight. Super easy to install, you do have to get AC power to it. I put it on the 1" incoming line from our well before it hit the pressure tank. We noticed an immediate difference after installation. Several months in and we have no discernible orange iron staining and substantial improvement on water spotting on glasses in the dishwasher and on countertops. I did not have room in the well closet for a full softener so this was a good solution to keep minerals in suspension rather than removing them.

Model-CWD48 POSITIVES: *Super easy to install, (no tools required) *Works as advertised. *Great & Fast customer service. *Beats a traditional water softener in so many ways. NEGATIVES: *It takes a while (about 6 weeks for me) to notice a significant difference in your water hardness, but it does work quite well... Until It Breaks! *The oscilloscope display is apparently prone to failure, leaving you no easy way to tell if the unit is still even functioning. Two days after I installed the 1st one, the oscilloscope display stopped working. I called customer service & they sent out a replacement the same day. They advised me that It's a known problem that they're working to fix, & that the unit IS in fact still working. I used the voltage detector on my stud finder, & found that it WAS still producing electricity, leading me to believe that it was still working. After I installed the replacement unit, it worked for about 2 or 3 months till the display stopped working AGAIN. So I checked it again, w/ my voltage detector, & although the display is dead, it too appears to still be functioning. I called customer support AGAIN, & without question, they immediately shipped out a 3rd unit that I received 2 Days Later. Because of how easy the awesome customer support team made things, & because the product does seem to make a significant difference in reducing the problems associated w/ hard water, I'm going to give it one more chance before I switch to something else. Hopefully the third time is the charm. I'll update this review after I find out how long this one lasts.

I’ve only had it installed for 1 week, but I can see it is working. My major issue was mineral buildup in the toilet under the waterline. I was scrubbing it away every 2-3 days. Since installing exactly one week ago, there is still no buildup. This is exactly what I needed. I never noticed any hard water feel or other indications, just the toilet every few days. Installation was relatively straightforward and all parts, including ties were included. I installed directly onto the main pipe right after the meter with an outlet within reach of the 5 ft. Power cord.

BOTTOM LINE: After 3 years... still working strong! Tremendous time-saver and money saver on continually replacing salt weekly to monthly! Customer support is fine also! My first interest in this were the reduction of unnecessary chemicals (salt), the cost and time savings as well as the technology. We have very hard water. The TDS (total dissolved solids) is extremely high. Lots of calcium precipitation with this or the salt-water treatments. Installation location on incoming city water pipe: We installed our Yarna unit before the house water shutoff valve and connected the cord to a standard wall outlet in the basement. We did not use an extension cord. We have unplugged and reinstalled the wrapping coils at least once as we wanted a tighter fit than we initially had. Hot Water Heater to Navien A2: We had an old 60 gallon hot water heater that we replaced with a Navien A2 unit after about 1.5 years of using the Yarna unit. Both are were in our basement installed just below the kitchen. The Navien has a pre-filter so after a year we had it serviced. There were some slivers of calcium buildup in the pre-filter which we removed. There has been no negative impact on the Navien A2 unit so it's working fine. Dishwasher: We have a Bosch dishwasher (15 years old?) that exhibited serious internal calcium (white) buildup on the bottom and sides after we decided to not use the salt-treated softwater approach. Distance from the Yarna unit is about 20' (basement to kitchen). Then we installed the Yarna CWD24 as our city water lines are 1" (CWD30 works for 2" max). After about a year or so, I noticed that the dishwasher deposits were coming off. Additionally, our dishes were looking better with less calcium on them. I eventually purchase the Bosch Dishwasher Quick Descaler (#00312918 - 2 pack). The first time I used it it really (!) cleaned the insides of the dishwasher. About 6 months later, I used it again and the insides are sparkling. So we have a 'new' dishwasher! ;-) Faucets: With such success on the dishwasher, we then went to our faucets (9 in the house - some chrome, some brass). I didn't do the hose connections on the outside. We put CLR in 50% strength on almost all faucets, some with 100% strength and let it soak over night to nearly a week! In all cases we had success. The only issue we still have would be related to where CLR can't get to but these are being taken care of via the Yarna unit's ability to 'soften/eliminate' the calcium buildup in the pipes. Shower heads: Same results with CLR but we were able to remove the shower heads and soak them. Toilets: Inside the water tanks we noticed the buildup and crusting of the calcium which is being neutralized still to this day. We did replace some of the water-closets workings but not all since the calcium made some parts 'hard' (flapper etc.). Some flappers had crust on them that eventually came off - somewhat encouraged by manually wiping these areas and stirring up the calcium deposits from the bottom of the tank to be flushed out. The actual bowl is cleaner also. Shower doors: After years of taking a shower without a softener and then using the Yarna unit we noticed that parts of the shower doors (glass and brass) were losing the calcium deposits (being washed off without any effort on my part). We then started using CLR (1.5" paint brush in a cottage cheese container) and then Kaboom to clean these doors even on cultured marble. I personally like CLR a bit better (used at 50% and Kaboom at 100%) but both work! Both have some 'slickness' to them but it's very minor when you're working in the shower/bath stalls. The shower doors, floor, brass etc all look 90% better but I'm still working on them. Crevices and screw heads take a bit more time. Water taste: Removes salty taste and makes water taste more 'normal'. This may be a personal preference. Cooking: Nothing changed except there's no calcium deposits that occur nor is there any residual 'salt' added. Health: Hard to determine but, with the Yarna unit, we're drinking water without the additives. I would easily rebuy! Actually thought about a 2nd one but I’m told it’s not needed. I don't know how long it will take to fully do our pipes. I don't know of any downsides unless you desire the salt and 'slicker' water.
