BALI FONTE Cast Iron Pepper Mill, 8cm/3 In Orange

I had a beloved pepper grinder that broke down over time due to plastic parts inside slowly degrading, so I wanted to avoid that. This one is rock-solid, with perfectly tooled internal metal parts and a heavy cast-iron body. The top opens easily for refills. All its parts can be viewed and cleaned with a brush or whatever. Its short squat stature prevents tipping. The texture is really nice to hold and the color looks/feels baked-in, not something that will chip away over time. Just don't drop it on your foot! It occurs to me that this would make a good gift for a home cook or for a housewarming, because even if the recipient already had a pepper grinder, this can be used for other spices and is so pretty and useful. It came in a beautifully designed box as well, which would help it feel like a special present. I'm kind of amazed this grinder is so affordable given its quality and presentation.

Nice and heavy. This pepper grinder has a ton of personality. I almost want to give it a name. Very smooth grinding mechanism and looks great in the kitchen.

This is an excellent fine grind pepper mill. If you’re looking for a larger cracked pepper size to your pepper this isn’t for you. Some small aesthetic paint chips on the outside prevent a five star review for such an expensive pepper mill. That paint is not on the inside of the mill so I am not worried about contamination. What you’re paying for here is the grind mechanism which is quality build. The size is perfect for a table setting and fits nicely in your hands.

Pretty, well made and functional ! Grind size is controlled by the top nut tightening, albeit this grinder makes a finer pepper.

We've gone through a number of the inexpensive plastic pepper mills over the years. At some point, the plastic ages and cracks, ruining the mill. Since I already had a set of Peugeot stainless steel mills that were great,; when I found this one it I decided to give it a try and was not disappointed. Why two mills? To grind different peppers at different grind levels. It grinds well and the solid construction means at some point my grandchildren will use it. The French know a thing or two about cooking good tools. I recommend this for anyone looking for an excellent grinder for themselves or as a gift.

I had high hopes for this nice-looking pepper grinder, the perfect size and color for my kitchen. It came filled with some nice smelling peppercorns. Unfortunately, it doesn't work well. It grinds the pepper very finely but it takes a lot of effort to produce even a small amount of pepper. And yes, I have gone online and read directions about adjusting the grinder, etc. It's a tremendous disappointment. Why is it so difficult to find a pepper grinder that works well? I have so many of them. The one that works best is a no-name grinder I bought at Dayton's in Fargo, ND in the 1980s...

This is an awesome little pepper mill. I have a cast iron salt cellar so this pepper mill is a nice match. It's really well made and looks good. Very easy to use and maintain. I know some reviews complained about the area where you put the pepper not having much capacity but I think it's plenty. I've had this pepper mill for well over a month, and use it every time I cook, and just had to refill it for the first time a couple of days ago. It grinds really well and I like that it's on the smaller size, just feels easier to handle in my opinion. All in all I really like it. I would definitely recommend.

Very pretty. Very heavy. Easy to fill. Works well with the provided peppercorn variety but jams up and doesn't work well with standard grocery store variety black peppercorns - I guess they're too hard or too large for this device? Can't get coarse ground pepper regardless of how much you adjust the top cap - just a consistent fine grind. I thought the unit was defective because Peugeot makes great quality product, but the replacement had the same problems. I returned it.
