Very effective
Absolutely blown away by this thing. I’ve have a g3 barracuda I’ve been using for 10yrs now. It did a decent job and was way better than vacuuming manually. I left it in the pool 24/7 and depending on the time of year had it running several hrs a day. Pool would be decent but struggled with leaves and pine needles especially in fall and winter here in FL. Over the last 10yrs the trees behind my property line have grown and throw way more leaves and pine needles in my pool every year and the barracuda struggles more and more, constantly getting clogged and not working.Got my aquanaut 2 days ago hooked it up, dialed it in as close as I could to the correct rpm. This thing is a beast just sucking up everything within a few hours it had my filthy pool almost spotless. I have a zodiac leaf canister hooked up as well and had to dump it 4-5 times as well as the cleaner got jammed up with debris a few times in the hrs it ran. While the cleaner did get clogged I don’t fault the cleaner as my pool was an absolute mess with leaves, pine needles, bark and some small sticks, that is beyond anything the aquanaut is advertised to do and directions say to clean out large debris prior to using the aquanaut. No that the pool is clean I have no doubt it will run flawlessly without getting clogged. I did have to run my Hayward variable speed pump almost 300rpm higher to achieve the correct rpm on the aquanaut. At first I’d did not like this as it pulls almost 200w more power but from the looks of it I will be able to drastically cut down the hrs of cleaner time. I was running my barracuda cleaner 4hrs a day and looks like I will be able to run the aquanaut under 2hrs which will save a few $ over the yrs of use. One thing I wish I had researched was the big difference between the 2 wheel vs 4 wheel version being the 4 wheel does longer straight aways before turning aka for larger pools. I thought the 4 wheels was more for climbing and traction from deep end to shallow. Again not the cleaners vault it’s mine but the good news is they make the gear to gain that ability for the 2 wheel and it’s on like $13.

Finnly found the right product
I have pool plaster that's 47 years old. I had the creepy Crowley before, which caused extensive damage to my pool steps. I kept trying to find a pool cleaner that would not scrape the pool plaster. I finally found the right one. The rubber on the wheels is soft and does not scrape the plaster. It works great; however, it does not go up the walls or the steps as which I like. In turn, I have to brush the walls down and the steps. It does not take long. I am very happy with the product.

Works ok
Have not had an issue with it turning on its side. It does not climb the vertical walls no matter the settings but does climb the steep sides of the bowl. It does not sweep completely clean. I still have to brush dirt spots. It will NOT remove algae. You will have to brush everything loose. It takes about 5 to 6 hours for it to get everything covered. My pool is 16 x 32 and 5 feet at the deep end. It does climb onto the standard circular bottom drain and makes all 4 wheels free spin making it stuck so you have to watch it. While it does kind of free you from vacuuming, it does require tending to. I mean, I can vacuum the entire pool in about 20 minutes manually so this doesn't save any time, just saves a little muscle. Is it worth the price? Maybe a break even if it lasts more than 2 to 3 years, otherwise, it won't be worth it.

Worked until just after the return window.
I HAD a Poolvergneugen, which is what this product used to be before it was procured by Hayward. That Poolvergneugen worked reliably for many years. I loved my Poolvergneugen. The old Poolvergneugen started jamming up at the end of last year, where the wheels simply would not turn. We replaced the drive train, but it jammed up again after like 3 months. When they replaced the drive train for the third time, my confidence in the machine was shattered, which broke my heart. It was old. I suppose it's bound to happen.I decided to buy another Poolvergneugen, but discovered that the company had been procured by Hayward pools. Hayward is a great brand. I have a Hayward pool pump and a Hayward DE filter and they have run reliably for years, like my old Poolvergneugen. I didn't hesitate to order the Hayward Aquanaut 200 expecting the same quality I expect from such a powerful marriage as Hayward and Poolvergneugen. I installed the Aquanaut and was immediately impressed with its impressive suction. For a while my pool was cleaner than it had ever been. Suddenly this week, not two full months after purchase, I woke up and saw a thick layer of desert sand all over the bottom of my pool. The Aquanaut was on, but it wasn't moving. I took it out and inspected it. I opened the lid. I can find absolutely no obstruction. The gears are totally jammed. If I'm going to see this working I'm going to drop at least $40 on repairs. I just don't know what to say. This isn't the quality I expect from Hayward.I threw my old Poolvergneugen back in the pool. The Poolvergneugen is working again. A ten year old cleaner is more reliable than this one that's barely 2 months old?
