SmartSHIELD -5mm 24" x50ft R15 Reflective Foam Core Insulation roll, Cold and Heat Shield, Radiant Barrier, Thermal Insulation - White / FOIL

This has made a big difference with our old windows. Most of our windows are old single pane with a storm window. I put this insulation on the inside after taping up the storm window on the outside to stop air flow. The bedrooms are warmer now, and should be cooler this summer.

This insulation was easy to work with especially when cutting. I insulated my garage door with it using Alien tape to secure it to the door panels. I also used a left over piece to make a cover for my patio TV.

I was skeptical that this product would have decent insulation efficiency at only 5 mm thick but it really does better than fiberglass insulation, I used it to wrap my 8” metal ducts under my house (remember to not wrap the duct tightly cause a air gap is crucial for high efficiency) It’s also nice that you have no fiberglass itch or respiration issues in a 48” roll it applies quickly with less tape with one roll I covered 52’ including the distribution box.

Did my shop with this using 16in rolls. My third order of 50ft, came up short at 44ft so not able to complete, also have a slice thru a 4ft section so really only got about 35ft of usable. Will shop another brand due to this but if you get a good roll its good easy to work with stuff. Lays right between 2x4's. Also used one roll in RV to shore up underbelly heat loss. Updated review, seller refunded the full price due to issue with one roll. Will order again

GREAT at reflecting heat of the sun through glass. I used this on curved plexiglass windows in my sun room. Easily cut to size. If you live in a PUD and homeowners association doesn’t allow this sort of protection on regular sized windows you can slip sheets of this lightly stiffened, foam backed, aluminum material temporarily, with a piece of scotch tape, between the glass and curtain/window shade and remove it once the sun no longer shines on the glass. It’s really useful and since it’s temporary it’s not unsightly.

Just received this recently... the product looks fantastic, feels like quality & measures as advertised. We are still considering how we will apply it to our zinc ceiling... stay tuned for an update once we apply it!

I live in the Las Vegas area. Summer temps can get up to 114F. My house has a wall of windows that face west, which is the worst possible configuration for a desert home. The sun blazes through the windows all afternoon and my ac has to run non-stop for hours just to keep the interior temp at 80-82 degrees. Closing the shutters didn't help. I found this reflective foam insulation and taped it to the interior window frame with double stick Gorilla tape. OMG the temperature difference is incredible. It's a good 15 degrees cooler. I can keep the ac at 75 and it runs about 50% fewer hours. Highly recommend.

I’m sure this is good for it’s intended purpose but not for what I needed, I was trying to use as RV skirting , too hard to work with
