Smells amazing, zero hold. At all. In any way whatsoever.
Right out of the box and I couldn’t wait to review it. First impressions are as follows: it smells effin o-mazing. I’ve seen people say “bubblegum” in the reviews but I’ve never chewed bubblegum that smells like roses so I can’t agree with that. It has a very rose-like quality but somehow still a very masculine scent. I can’t put my finger on it exactly. Maybe like roses mixed with a fog machine. Anyway, I have also seen a whole lot of complaints about “ermegherd I can’t wash it off my hands it took like eleventy thousand minutes to wash off” well that’s probably because you’re a special kind of dumb or you have shitty soap ok. Also getting it out of the can and into my hair was not nearly as challenging as I’ve read. I simply scraped a bit out with the back of my fingernail and then emulsified in my hand, duh, then rubbed it in my towel dried/damp hair. No biggie. Also it wipes right off on a hand towel or whatever you use for shaving which is what I used. I combed it in with the wide side of the comb, blow dried, and voila. I think it’s great on all counts so far. Trial period to see how it treats my scalp over time. That’s the kicker for me. Everything breaks my head out eventually except for shu uemura products, but they are very expensive and they also discontinued my two favorite products so that’s why I began my search for a tried and true alternative. I’m 100% impressed so far. I’ve avoided this stuff since I started training my hair for this style due to the petro base but there is really no data to support the idea that it’s bad for your hair or scalp or whatever aside from, yes, if you don’t wash well it could build up and possibly cause some blocked follicle issues, allegedly. I’m happy for now. I was happy with O’Douds multi purpose too until it started leaving flakes in my hair that look like dandruff. Hence the need to investigate some other products. Thanks for reading. Blessings on your journey. Edit: I have been using this for several days now. Pros: all of the above is still true. And this product relieved the itchy scalp and flakes from the O’Douds product, but... Con: zero hold. I’m talking zero. Like none. At all. In any way. Wish it had better hold bc I like everything else about it. Sighhh and on to the next

With 2 hacks - THE best hair product ever
If you read the reviews like most here, you have a good idea of the pros & cons of Reuzel Pink. I echo the general consensus - personally this stuff is my favorite hair product ever. I’ve tried at least 30 different products, of different types (clays, creams, pomades, fibers) from various manufacturers over the years - none of them touch Reuzel Pink. However, the two consistent knocks I read is that Reuzel Pink is a pain to wash out of your hair and off your hands - They are not wrong. I keep medium length hair that is fairly thick and wavy at about 6 inches on the top. I need control with some pliability, something that doesn’t dry out or cause flakes, the ability to re-style, smells good, and gives a look of healthy hair. Reuzel Pink is perfect for all of this. And I love this product so much that I dove in to how to make it more livable, meaning how the hell do I easily get this stuff off my hands and out of my hair when I need to? So, about those hacks to work around these cons... To wash this stuff off your hands, use a mechanics soap like Fast Orange Hand Soap. It seems excessive to have to buy a different soap just to wash hair product off your hands, but these kinds of orange pumice soaps are great in general. Chances are, if you work on cars you’re already familiar with soaps like these. This kind of soap smells great and easily gets Reuzel Pink product off your hands because it’s meant to eliminate grease and oil. As far as easily washing this out of your hair, Reuzel themselves have addressed this. If you search Reuzel Degrease Formula, you’ll find their instructions. Their daily hair conditioner on its own is a great conditioner. The peculiar thing here is that Reuzel instructs you to first apply the conditioner to DRY hair for a few minutes, then rinse it out. Next, Reuzel has a green scrubbing shampoo and a daily shampoo they recommend you use to finish this routine, in that order. I’ve done this and I like those products as well - but I think the key is applying the Reuzel conditioner to dry hair, before shampooing. I don’t always use the green scrubbing shampoo, as the daily shampoo seems sufficient. I also haven’t tried this with other conditioners, but I have used other shampoos with similar success. For me, this makes the Reuzel conditioner a must have, and the Reuzel shampoos as “nice-to-haves.” I don’t ever let myself get down to my last bottle of this conditioner before reordering. So those are workarounds for the only two cons I consistently see regarding this product. Yes, it takes more effort, but I’ve had both men and women stop me to ask what product I use. I’ve never had that happen wearing anything besides Reuzel Pink. I believe that kind of recognition speaks for itself. Hope this helps someone enjoy this stuff.

Wow. Very interesting, and perfect for certain styles
I'm a long time water based pomade user, from slicked back to spiky styles. I've tried products that called themselves a "wax" - but apparently those were all fake waxes lol. THIS product is a real wax. Literally like candle wax with a touch of oil to make it smoother. It was a pain to put on, as it took forever to get off my hands. But once in, I had a malleable and good looking hairstyle for THREE DAYS. I kid you not, I slept on it, combed it in the morning, and it looked almost good as new. Scent was good, shine and style was good, and the adjustability was unmatched in any of the dozen pomades I have tried. Zero flakes. Zero crunch. For the right hairstyle and person, this is an excellent product. It was just a little too hard to apply for me (20 mins to get off my hands), and I think my hair looks better with the tighter look a water based pomade gives me (currently enjoying Uppercut Deluxe). But as far as real, excellent hair waxes go - this is phenomenal. 5 stars for the product, and I will keep it as an option for certain hair and beard styles. While I never did find a good way to get it off my hands, some trial and error did give me a good way to wash it out of my hair. I didn't see any reviews detailing this, so I will provide my steps here as a low cost degreaser routine. These steps seemed to get out about 95% of the Reuzel Pink Heavy Hold Grease in my longish hair (3-6 inch straight hair), without breaking the bank or taking too much time. shampoo: super cheap, basic suave clarifying shampoo. oil: coconut oil, although any vegetable oil may work comb: any comb or brush really, but something with wide and fine teeth seemed to work well. water temp: Anything but cold. Hotter = better. 1) Shampoo and rinse hair 2) Massage a literal handful of the oil into your hair. Let sit for 1-3 mins. 3) Comb hair through multiple directions 4) Add shampoo again. Lather well, right on top of of the oil. 5) Comb hair through multiple directions 6) Rinse 7) Shampoo and rinse Repeat as needed if you're having a tough time. It seems the oil and the comb help get the grease "mobile" so the shampoo can finally wash it away.

A few tips to help out.
This is pretty awesome stuff. There are other reviewers stating that "the hold is nonexistent", "extremely sticky, and tough to remove", "Very waxy and heavy" and, "It smells like old candle wax". I would like to add a few tips to help out if possible. For a wax pomade the hold is definitely there. I can style a 3-4" pomp if not taller with this stuff no problem. If you're expecting a hold that gel gives you or a water based pomade, this is not for you. It meant to be restyled throughout the day if need be without extra application of product. Yes, it is sticky, heavy, and waxy. It's bees wax. There's no getting around that. Does it smell like candle wax? I wouldn't think so. It also doesn't smell exactly like bumble gum either though, but is much closer that the latter. It's a relatively sweet candy type of smell. Is it tough to remove from the can? No more so than any other wax based product. IMHO, to me this is much softer and easier to scoop out than other wax pomades like Murrays. A little pressure is all it takes. Personally, this works best after a few days of pomade buildup. 2-3 days after (re)applying, combing and styling, you'll love this stuff. After a week, you'll be hooked. Google therebelrouser if you want to know more about pomade buildup. He also does a great job explaining the differences between pomades. The Reuzel website also has great info and videos on styling and how to use this particular product. Take a look and give it a try. reuzelpomade.com

Good at what it does but may not be for everyone
I bought this after trying the green tin thinking I would like a stronger hold. I have medium-thick hair with a pretty stubborn growth pattern so I can only get a loose hold with the green tin unless I use a lot of it. This one does provide a stronger hold but it does so by having a higher wax content. It comes down to personal preference but I prefer the looser hold of the green tin than the firmer/tighter hold of this one at the expense of a waxier look/feel to my hair. I think all Reuzel hair products have pleasing smells that last. They aren't overly potent and don't have any kind of false/chemical smells. This one is kind of hard to describe. I've seen it called bubblegum but it isn't that sugary-sweet smelling. Kind of a light fruit maybe. I dunno but I like it. Difficult to wash out of hair and hands. Usually takes 2 showers with hot water and shampoo to completely remove it from hair and some hard scrubbing with soap to get it off your hands. Overall it's a good product for what it is. It may not work for every hair type or style but they make tiny 4oz cans so try a few different ones and see what works best for you.

Nice oil pomade.
As all Reuzel pomades the pink one is very very good. Nice shine. Good smell. Perfect.

Doesn't wash out very well, but looks great!
I've tried almost all Reuzel products, this stuff looks great but it doesn't wash out easily at all. I washed my hair twice aggressively in the shower and my hair still had hold from what was still there from the day before. So i only added some Reuzel sea surf hair tonic and was done. Today it's still not washing out, my hair is in place post shower with no added product. I tried using the blue tonic to break it up but no. So looks great, nice shine and hold, but H&S shampoo can't get it out, you may need something with tea tree in it that stuff breaks up anything. I think Reuzel has a shampoo with witch hazel in it that may get it out. Just FYI it'll take a few days of washing to come out. If it works for you then use it your hair will look great, just may not have to add much more every day, which can be good if this is all you use.

A pomade for men, and cyclists.
More specifically it's a pomade for men that know what they're doing. This is NOT babies first pomade, you'll likely open it up, look at it and want to just stick a candle wick in it. It's a very (think slightly warm candle wax) thick and viscous, true wax and oil based pomade. It has incredible staying power under just about any circumstances. I ride a commuter bike to work five days a week and I have no problem putting this in my hair, throwing a helmet over it, and running amok all over a city without ruining my look. Weather won't affect it like it would a water based and generally you won't have to worry about your hair being astray after it's in. It's just getting it in that's the problem. You're going to have to warm it up, you're going to have to work it into your hands for 30 seconds to get it warmer, and then you're going to need to be swift with your comb. Once it's in, it's not so terrible to rework slightly, but it's still harder than most are used to. Great smell to it, not very masculine in that barbershop kind of way, but still great. The ladies (and men for that matter) love it. I recommend this product hands down, provided they have the experience to manhandle it, to anyone who has a hairstyle they need to keep going under adverse conditions like weather, guys with pompadours that would make Mr. Presley green with envy, anyone looking for a Pomade that can double as a mustache wax, or people who ride bikes. I would NOT recommend this to anyone as their first pomade, or even their second. Reuzel makes great products which I am very happy with across the board, but this pom is a beast. Even their green might be a bit much. Start with the Reuzel red, it's thinner and water based then work your way up to the blue, which is thicker but still. Green comes next if you're looking to learn how an oil based one is going to work. This is just going to frustrate you and leave you with a bad impression of a company that makes great products otherwise.
