I love this 3XL mouse pad but not for the reason you may expect! A mouse does track nicely across it but I have 13”x28” for that purpose. This mouse pad has a very special purpose: protecting my board games! The below is a niche review for board gamers, however this mouse pad would be great for serving multiple purposes outside of computing. As a desktop pad I would also recommend. It’s higher quality than the 1 I own. Mouse glides better, love the thickness, stitching and high quality neoprene base. I don’t need this size for my desk though so not practical for me. If you’re curious about my application and asking why would anyone care about board games and maintaining pristine condition? - it’s because they can be expensive (Gloomhaven, Brass, Everdell, Root, Scythe...) and replacing lost or damaged components is not always easy or even possible. Limited production runs, deluxe editions etc. it’s worthwhile to protect what you have. Also if you get a game half off you definitely don’t want to replace at MSRP! When I to other people’s houses sometimes their table is sticky or the pieces don’t slide nicely across the table and components get bent or damaged. My parents and family houses are where I have been lately (covid life, limited options). At my parents the cards don’t slide. Family has kids any there can be sticky or who knows what. Friends houses can have food, drinks or condensation from glasses on the table. The dangers and risk of damages are everywhere! What’s a gal to do?! This 3XL mouse pad is the perfect solution! The pad is nice and thick with quality stitching. It has a very nice neoprene bottom so it stays put once you place it. Of course the surface is water resistant so if something does spill it’s an wash cleanup. Also, it’s HUGE which was exactly why I wanted it! To be large enough to place all board games components or cards out there within reach of everyone and provide a smooth, clean, sliding surface. The box it comes in is great made of medium weight cardboard it’s durable enough to keep the 3XL rolled up and stored inside for safe keeping and easy transport. No more cringing when a card is rumpled ask someone tries to slide it across the table or lands in something wet or through snack food remnants. This was a much more cost effective option for board games. Sure you can sleeve all your cards that gets costly, too, though and still doesn’t offer protection from other components like wooden meeples and cardboard pieces. I read up how other board gamers protected their surfaces and a lot was written about ordering custom online or going to Joann fabric and cutting custom sizes but when priced out for time, effort and materials this was the best option when considering time, quality and cost. Other possible considerations for a giant mouse pad like this is poker, mahjong, dominoes and other tabletop activities. Actually, anytime you want to protect your wooden table from Scratches or damages this is a great solution (unless you’re writing or drawing). It’s also great if playing on the floor it provides a smooth stay-in-place solution to glide toys, games or cards across it. I have had it for a couple months and it has held up well. Very durable. I’d buy 1 again for a gift or if mine was damaged but don’t foresee needing to replace mine due to issues with the mat itself. Very happy customer!

For the cost, size, and quality; this thing is unbeatable. Has a smooth, precise surface thats perfect for competitive gaming and its sheer thickness gives it a very comfortable wrist feel; almost padded. This thing is 4mm thick, normal pads are usually around 2 or 3mm. The "XL" logo is dumb and gets dirty easily though; its also very stark and not pretty, but thats my only complaint. I own two of these now, I alternate washing them and swapping them out when one gets dirty. My old one is going on 5 years old now; still holding up fine.

Very nice pad. XL in size and covers my 30” deep desk just right. This pad was exactly what I needed to protect my oak desk. It was worth the money and easy to use.

Good quality, is very thick and lays flat. Only thing that could make it better is if it didn't have their logo in the corner. I would prefer the mouse pad to be completely black with no logo. Still very happy with it, though.

Thick, high quality, lays flat, non-slip back, well made. I love it. Don't spend less for something you're not going to like.

This is the second mat I got from these folks. Build quality is amazing. Edges are secure and well stitched. This mat does the trick for multi-monitor setup. It is so large it covers the entire work surface. Why was that important to me? Because I have three 4K monitors in Portrait mode on my desk. That means my mouse has to travel a distance of 6,480 across my desk. A smaller mousepad just doesn't cut it. What's more, I needed a large enough pad that would allow for the monitors to sit on on top of the pad so I would not have any breaks in the mouse surface. Then add to that, my cubicle desk is in sections and there is a seam between two of my work surfaces making mouse glide a problem that thinner mats can't solve. The almost 4mm thickness of this pad makes the seam between my two surfaces meaningless and the mouse just glides over the surface unhindered by any bumps or unevenness in the underlying desk. For maintenance, I recommend a sticky lint roller to pick up weekly dust and debris. For spills or other stains I recommend washing it alone in the washing machine. Although I haven't yet washed this one, the other mat I have from these folks was easy to launder but you will have to squeegee out the excess water. I found rolling it up sandwiched between two bath towels and then squeezing the water out did the trick. I had to repeat this twice with fresh towels. Then drying it overnight over a chair returned the pad to a like-new state. It even washed out what I originally thought was a wear pattern that was showing where my mouse was most use. After washing, one could not tell what side of the mouse pad was in use. The wear pattern washed away and the original pad texture returned to like-new.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Pretty good. Kinda soft and thick, heavy style mat. Machine washable. No issues. Not much else to say. It's a mouse pad.
