Dynarex Xeroform Petrolatum Medicated Fine Mesh Gauze Dressing for Wound Care, 25 Count

This is the second wound that I've used Xeroform dressings. The first was "road rash" from a motorcycle accident. The second wound is a deep laceration that needed 9 stitches. Xeroform keeps the wound from sticking to the gauze and keeps it moist for a quicker healing environment. The "non-stick" pads are a joke compared to this stuff. Do yourself a favor and get some Xeroform dressings for any wound large enough to require a gauze dressing. You'll thank yourself once you go to change your dressing. 100% Once the wound is healed this product will no longer help with scars. It is to help prevent scars formation, not to reverse scar appearance. As a side note the person who claimed it caused the unaffected portion of their skin to become irritated and red in the reviews here sounds like they may have had an allergic reaction to the petroleum oil product this bandage is coated with.

I have been in the medical field for over 23yrs and I love this product. I had to get over 20 stitches and when my wound and stitches started to heal it became very itchy I apply this product with gauze for no more than 8 hours and it started to heal very quick and did not itch. It kept it just moist enough so the skin wouldn’t heal over the stitches. Itchness is a sign of healing. I used this product and wrapped it in gauze for no more than 8hours, then unwrap for at least 8 hours to breathe to heal. I am not a doctor. This is just my experience.

A must have for wound care . Speed healing and keeps the dressing from sticking to the wound . It's the same product used at the hospital for my out patient wound care. Good to keep on hand.

It helps keep the medicine (ointment or cream) in place on the wound, and since it has petroleum jelly on the gauze, it helps keep the wound moist and protects it a bit. Wounds heal faster when kept moist than when dry, so I am told. A roll of gauze is then wrapped around the limb if needed, and a gauze pad can be put over the xeroform before wrapping.

I ended up switching to these xeroform gauze pads because the other brand I had purchased from Amazon started drying out really bad. These ones are very good and don't stick to the wound at all, the price is also great.

These are excellent for soft tissue wounds. I had a very serious injury and it required constant bandage changes and for the price the same thing as CURAD. I used bacitracin over the top before padding and wrapping to prevent drying. I would cut them in half.

Have to warp a bandage over but definitely great for almost all cuts, burns , cracked skin! My husband had a skin graft and they used this stuff and it’s best I’ve ever seen !

These dressings are so convenient and effective. They are a good size and save time and mess.
