Good ingredients, good taste, and nice variety
Blue Buffalo and Earthborn are the staples in my cats' canned food diets. The former because my cats have done very well with Blue Buffalo over the years, and the latter because it's good cat food, and one of my cats just loves it. However, my cats - and I think most cats - prefer variety in canned foods. While my cats will eat Blue Buffalo kibble every day without complaint, they grow bored with the same canned food. Thus, I rotate a wide variety of premium canned foods into their diet. My requirements are that meat, poultry, or fish should be the first ingredient and that soy, corn, wheat, gluten, or unnamed byproducts be excluded. Although my two cats (Ella, age 11, and Bubba, age 2) like both Blue Buffalo and Earthborn, they will refuse to eat either if offered to them several days in a row. Weruva's products are among the premium foods that I rotate into the mix, and I particularly like variety packs. In this Weruva selection, there are four recipes: Chicken Frick 'A Zee, Lamb Burger, Kitty Gone Wild, and Funk in the Trunk. Yeah, I know; silly names. Approximately 80% of what is in a can of cat food is represented in the first four ingredients, with the most prominent ingredient being named first and on down the line. The first five ingredients in each of the recipes in this variety pack are as follows: Chicken Frick 'A Zee: Chicken, Chicken Broth, Sunflower Seed Oil, Locust Bean Gum, and Calcium Lactate. Lamb Burger: Fish Broth, Tuna, Lamb, Lamb Lung, and Sunflower Seed Oil. Kitty Gone Wild: Fish Broth, Salmon, Tuna, Sardine, and Mackerel. Funk in the Trunk: Chicken Broth, Chicken (Boneless, Skinless Breast), Tuna, Pumpkin, and Sunflower Seed Oil. I don't see anything scary in the rest of the list, so these are pretty good. While I would prefer meat, poultry, or fish as the first ingredient, I don't have a problem with Fish Broth or Chicken Broth as the first ingredient because one of the major benefits of wet food is that cats, particularly when they grow older, sometimes don't drink enough water to meet the needs of aging kidneys, and because cats prefer to get their liquid requirements through their food than through drinking water, although they always have fresh drinking water available to them. Perhaps, if I were feeding only one type of canned food to my cats, I'd pick something that didn't have broth as the first ingredient, but these are among many premium foods that are part of their diet, and broth is better than water because it includes nutrients and enhances the taste. Plus, my cats have always preferred wetter, gravy-type recipes to the drier paste-type cat foods. My last four cats lived to be in their mid-to-late-20s, so I must be doing something right.

SIMPLE QUALITY CHICKEN/TURKEY & BROTH
Note: dated December 6, 2015: My kitty's appetite has returned after over 2 months of dealing with UTI treatment, 2 heat episodes, etc & for a few days already in full force. She CLEANS her plate with this, with I & Love & You & Tiki Salmon & Chicken & even cleaned her plate this morning with Platefulls Chicken & Salmon--the morsels from the pouches almost NEVER get 100% eaten! I am totally getting relieved & happy as she was getting too skinny & I was getting worried. Her pee pee has gone back to normal & you can depend on a good pee pee from this product. Less dependable for a good pee pee is I & Love & You, but this is a terrific source of needed moisture--for those who are leaving behind the extremely unhealthy dry cat food & have had urinary tract issues with your cat. (You also get a heaping portion of turkey/chicken of course!) She licked clean her plate with the Tiki Salmon & Chicken with the same results. This can is slightly larger: 3.2 oz, therefore slightly more moisture & nourishment. My kitty loves both this Turkey & Chicken mix & since this can is 3.2 oz, it is among the more generous cans & therefore your kitty gets lots of extra nourishment & badly needed moisture. This is a simple recipe of thinly cat-friendly shredded chicken/turkey in a broth that holds together with some minor gum filler but never carrageenan. It gives nourishment & needed moisture to your cat's diet. It smells great, my kitty ate it & it can be put back into the frig in a covered container for later & the aroma of the fresh chicken/turkey remains the same. It is quality meat & again my only complaint is not using enough dark meat which is more indicated for cats. Dark meat adds flavor, it adds moisture & some added fat. This food does not say "for all life stages" which is an important characteristic to look for in quality cat food. That is one tiny point, but it is simple, decent, fresh & adds moisture. On the plus side, there are fewer carbs than in other foods & carbs are not necessary good for cats. There are always +'s & -'s in just about every food, however. NO GRAIN, NO GMO, NO STARCH (STARCHES ARE BAD FOR CATS) & NO CARRAGEENAN! AND without the toxic supplement Menadione Sodium Bisulfite (source of Vitamin K)--(The Material Safety Data sheet on Menadione-sodium bisulfite states: “The substance is toxic.") Chicken Broth, Chicken*, Turkey, Locust Bean Gum, Sunflower Seed Oil, Guar Gum, Fish Oil, Xanthan Gum, Potassium Chloride, Choline Chloride, Taurine, Vitamin E Supplement, Zinc Sulfate, Thiamine Mononitrate (Vitamin B1), Nicotinic Acid (Vitamin B3), Calcium Pantothenate, Vitamin A Supplement, Potassium Iodide, Manganese Sulfate, Ferrous Sulfate, Vitamin D3, Supplement, Riboflavin Supplement (Vitamin B2), Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, (Vitamin B6), Copper Sulfate, Folic Acid, Vitamin B12 Supplement *A combination of boneless, skinless, white breast and other cuts of chicken Edit: 11/25/15 It appears my kitty prefers (although it is too soon to tell for sure) chicken/turkey (Fowl Ball) rather than the Chicken Frick A Zee. My kitty leaves less in her plate with Fowl Ball than with the Chicken Frick A Zee. I have to wait for some time to pass to see which one she really prefers, but it seems to be this one! I believe this mix will be continued--it is lean & I, therefore can afford to alternate with some richer foods. This food is made in Thailand, but I heard they are quite strict with their quality procedures for cat/dog food.

The natural ingredients like actual whole salmon pieces he loves it m🥰🐈⬛
My little binx loves this food I have had to resort to feeding him soaked dry food bc he would not eat the other wet food I got him. He is currently devouring his entire bowl without dry food. This is my second time purchasing since he is a little I am trying to find his favorite and this is totally it at the moment!

Cat loves it but it does not love him back
I bought this because I've been wanting to try Weruva and it was on a slight sale. My cat loves it and it seems like a great lower calorie, high volume wet food without a ton of fillers or carbs. Unfortunately, it gives my boy horrible diarrhea, which he has never experienced before with any food (budget-friendly, high-end, wet, dry, etc.). A little ironic considering the pumpkin is supposed to help with digestive issues, which he also hasn't ever had a problem with. He does not have a sensitive stomach, but even after an extra slow transition it just doesn't sit with him. The pooping issue is mostly controlled with a triple dose of a good quality probiotic. None of this is Weruva's fault, and I've since introduced him to other foods from this brand which he chomps down on with equal enthusiasm. My only gripe is that this food contains tuna but it's not immediately obvious. I try to limit the amount of tuna my cat eats because of mercury concerns, and I do wonder why Weruva wouldn't say "Chicken and Tuna in Pumpkin Consommé" considering it's the third ingredient, but it's not like they hide it from the ingredient list.

REAL chicken, smells like Sunday Dinner! Honestly, it DOES NOT smell like cat food!
George (The Cat) loves it and I appreciate that smells like chicken stew—not dead mice or whatever is in some of the other wet cat food products! He and I both look forward to opening Weruva “Chicken Frick ‘A Zee” daily. I purchase the small cans for convenience. He does not like the other flavors of the Weruva products as much. George is 10 years old and he’s become more particular about what he eats. I started with buying the multi-pack, but eventually it became clear which one he would eat entirely. Weruva is pricier than many others but at the current price point I am willing to continue to buy it. With inflation in so many areas, budgeting constraints in 2025 are a factor to be taken into consideration. Buying Weruva products has been a great choice—and George agrees! Meow, teehee!

The pink can is a hard no.
So you know what type of cats I am dealing with: One of my 4 cats will gobble anything up, she was a wild (but tame) cat for the first few years of her life, hunting around the property. She became a housecat at about age 5 and she still retains that "eat anything" mentality. She will eat the "Kitty Gone Wild", but she does tend to lick AROUND the obvious fish pieces in the can, which speaks volumes to me since she is a wild girl at heart and will munch on just about everything. (She is 20 years old now, and still doing awesome, which I attribute to a healthy diet) If she is really hungry, which is usually the first meal of the day, she will eat the fish chunks, but usually she leaves it and waits for the other cats to leave their food. The other 3 cats are not picky, they are used to raw food. Although this is not raw food, I got it because I was looking for something additional to give them, to diversify their diet. They like the "Fowl Ball", and all 3 of the Tuna flavors a lot! The problem is with the "Kitty Gone Wild" flavor, that it looks good since it has pieces of fish in it, but it smells horrid. They will stick their nose up at it if they have other food or are not super hungry. So I will not purchase that type again, the smell is absolutely gross and smells spoiled when it is freshly open too, which I cant handle. If it is left out for an hour it smells so bad that I had to light an incense even to go into the kitchen to throw it all away. There is no putting it in a trash can either, unless you take the trash out immediately! I genuinely gagged at the smell but thought maybe the kitties like that -- but no. I am used to raw food too, so this was surprisingly gross to me, its a very hard NO for this type. I am on the fence with this brand because of the terrible smell of the one type. I got 3 cases, so I will mix it in here and there.. but the smell is so bad with "Kitty Gone Wild" that I am hesitant to try other types, even though they seems to like all 3 tuna flavors and the "Fowl Bowl", it is not good to give them tuna all the time.... So, I doubt I will invest in more of this brand, but it was worth a try. Werva, please fix this so that its palatable to the cats that eat everything! You all must know how horrid it smells manufacturing it, and if you do not know - then something must be going wrong down the line, which really makes me leery of this food. Back to the drawing board for me!

Solid wet food
My cat loves these, and he likes having different flavors. I can tell he gets tired of the flavor of a can after a few days, so having the option of swapping between the different meats is great. Plus, his coat is nice and shiny, and he’s had no tummy issues on weruva.
