Luck of the draw (Quality Control just doesn't CUT it)
Pros San Mai Tri-Steel laminated blade (Certificate of Authenticity does not specify what the 3 steels are) Differentially hardened Real Hamon (Not Acid Enhanced Either) Weighs only 2lbs 2oz without Saya Good balance Iron Tsuba Real Ray skin Same Cotton Ito Wrapping Sharpest Ryumon Katana I have seen yet Cons Hamon runs off the blade in a couple spots 8-10 inches from Kissake Saya came damaged Blade was slightly discolored and needed polishing (dried oil residue, no rust) due to the fact it has sat since the manufacture date in June 2013 Sageo wrapped very loose Overall it seems like this sword would be a good value if the Hamon didn't run off the blade in the cutting area, the Saya wasn't damaged, and the Sageo wasn't wrapped so loose (loose Sageo may not matter to you if you untie it so you can fasten it to your Obi)
