Handy tool
This power attachment is a time saver and works well. It turns the soil and makes a hole large enough and deep enough to place the plant in the ground

Made planting very easy. Very easy to control the depth of the hole. I plant 50 new bulbs in no time.

It digs
Used this auger on my hammer drill to make some vertical drains in my back yard. Works great. I did hit a few roots and some rocks … you will know when you find them. Watch your wrist. I could have used these years ago for numerous projects but thankfully I have it now.

Makes Bulk Planting Much Easier
This auger drill bit is sturdy, well-made, and fit perfectly into my drill. It cut clean holes with very little effort and didn’t bind up in the soil. Planting bulbs went so much faster and saved my hands and back compared to digging by hand.

The auger was supplied without the drill. It is just like a piece of rod without the drill. In the picture there is a drill attached to the augur . But in the user manual they are suggesting to use electric drills. Amazon should refrain from advertising such vendors.

These have made planting and replanting a LOT easier. But if you don't drill slowly, it may knife into the ground very fast, jerking the drill forward (along with your arm!) and getting it out can be a pain.

Bought this to help loosen up the soil around my rhubarb. I worked like a charm. I used my cordless drill and it easily went down into the compacted soil and with the drill in reverse it easily came back out. I have also used this to loosen up the soil which helped greatly in digging a hole. The metal is sturdy and it seems to be constructed well.

I used it to drill 12'" deep holes (7 in total) to install 1 inch diameter bamboo poles for a temporary wire mesh fence separating our yard. (We'll keep pets on one side of the yard while spraying herbicides on the other side). Half of the holes were drilled very quickly. For normal soil found in backyard, it took about a minute to drill to a depth of 12" with a 3/8 electric corded drill. When drilling in the clay area, mixed with a fair bit of small rocks (1/2" size), there was some wear observed at the leading edge of the spiral. On several occasions, the electric drill stalled because the bit probably hit larger rocks underneath and could not move on. I think I had also chipped a portion of the leading edge of the bit in one of these cases. It was understood that I was using the bit as a construction tool instead of a garden tool! The electrical drill was quite hot to touch too, indicating lots of power being transferred to the drilling bit. Yet it survived breakage, just some wear observed at the leading spiral edge. I would recommend this tool because the drilling work (for planting, for example) can be done very quickly. Just remember to ease off on drill speed if hitting rocks.
