It Does Exactly What Its Supposed To.
The performance of this memory card reader/writer is impressive. It lived up to its "high-speed" promise, transferring my photos swiftly without any noticeable lag. It handled various memory card formats with ease, and I appreciated the convenience of having multiple card slots in one compact device. Now, let's address the elephant in the room: build quality. Yes, the build quality of this device does leave something to be desired. The plastic feels a bit on the cheaper side, and the ports are a tad wiggly. However, it's important to note that, with proper care, this doesn't have to be a significant issue. As long as you handle the device gently and don't subject it to unnecessary stress, it should perform perfectly fine. Considering the price and the convenience it offers, I found it easy to overlook these minor build quality concerns. It got the job done efficiently, and that's what matters most. I was able to retrieve all of my precious old photos without a hitch.

Great product at a low price
Received this card reader today and used it immediately. It worked without a hitch on my laptop with Windows 11. No setup or firmware to install, just plug in and insert a card. Very fast file transfer as well

Might be the worst tech I've ever bought?
Bought this to read a single Sony Memory Stick I had laying around with the belief it might have some photos of importance on it. Plugged in the Memory Stick as soon as I got this adapter, and no drives showed up in Windows Explorer. As far as I could tell, no drivers had been installed either. So, I plug it into a different USB port with the same result. I went back to this Amazon page to see if others had the same issue, and someone mentioned it not supporting USB 3.0, so I thought "oh, maybe they mean it won't work with USB 3.0 ports period". I got out my laptop knowing it's got a USB 2.0 port, and still nothing. Curious, I took the Mini USB cable (yeah, remember those from 10 years ago?) out from the adapter and plugged it back in with a bit of force. This time, a removable drive showed up, but it was empty. I plugged in an SD card into the SD slot on the adapter and lo and behold, it read my SD card fine, but my Sony MS still didn't show up. I replug the adapter back into the laptop, and now the SD drive is gone from Windows Explorer. Turns out, to get it to work *just* as an SD reader, you have to fiddle with it over and over again. No thanks? I've already got an SD reader on my desktop fan controller anyway, and I wanted to use this to read my Sony MS. Well, guess what? I went into device manager on my desktop with the adapter plugged in to see if I could force a driver installation or update. I saw 'Generic USB MS Reader USB Device', and then I realised: my Kingwin FPX-003 fan controller might have MS support, and I just didn't even consider it. I shine a flashlight into its SD slot, and there I see an MS connector on the flipside of the SD connector, just on the other side. I plug in the MS, and what do I find? Age old photos of me and family? Nope. It was a memory stick for a Sony CLIÉ PDA. I got a single sample mp3 that took up 1 out of the 8 MB of space, and files I can't open because it requires software only on Palm OS. Pros: -None Cons: -MS slot doesn't work at all -SD slot only works if you keep screwing with it (ie, not worth the waste of time) - Uses Mini USB port as its sole connection in 2019; really? I completely understand Micro USB as that's the most common connector and USB C is generally not worth it, but MINI USB? - The included Mini USB cable is only 12.5 cm long, which I imagine renders it useless for many people. This is being returned as soon as possible.

Well worth the price
This is a basic memory card reader. . .but it works. I had some old Sony Pro memory sticks that I was not sure still had anything on them so I purchased this memory card reader. It works great and my iMac reads this quickly. My SD card reader on my iMac sometimes will not read and I have to restart it for it to work. NOT with this reader. It's not fast but I'm not down loading a lot dats. I do mostly photography and use 32gb cards. Only thing different is it uses an older plug adapter to the reader and usb to the computer. It is replaceable. It's a standard plug but a USB to USB C would have been perfect. Everyone has extras of those. So just never take that cord of the reader. It is great that it does come off because it makes for easy storage. This is a great item to take everywhere.

I got what I paid for
When I first connected the device to the USB-A port on my computer I received n error message notifying me that the computer had shut down the device because it was drawing too much power. Examination revealed that inside the CF slot, one pin was leaning at an acute angle and one end appeared blackened as though it had sustained high temperature. I used a tool to straighten it enough so that it did not touch anything else. When I re-connected to the USB-A slot no error message appeared. The device worked fine with my SD cards and even with some old XD cards from the early 2000s. I suspect a manufacturing glitch or defect in the CF socket got by the QA inspection
