RAE Gear - Magnetic Surge Sheath Belt Clip Holster Compatible with leatherman Surge (Tool & BITS NOT Included)

So far this has out lasted my other holsters. Had to deburr the sides as every time I went to move my shirt it tore on the edge, also cut into my car seats.(I have it on my 4 o clock side) Magnets hold it very securely, I find I am not able to pull it away from the holster and find myself sliding it upward first off one of the magnets.

I was a little concerned about this sheath due to having to rely solely on the magnets ability to hold my expensive and customized Leatherman surge in place. I am a communication technician and can find myself in some rough places at times. So far, the sheath has held my Leatherman securely in place without issue. This sheath is well designed and the magnets are very strong. The sides and top of the sheath are flush with the surge, prevention anything from rubbing up against it and possibly pulling it out. In fact, the only way to remove your tool is to either pull it out or slide it up. Keep in mind that the surge needs to sit correctly in the sheath in order for the magnets to be fully engaged. Great sheath. Quick delivery. I am very pleased.

I bought a Leatherman surge and the stock sheath wasnt working out. I needed something I could clip onto a double layer cobra belt after making the final adjustments. This is nearly perfect in every way. Do keep in mind this will stick out from you body a bit so when you get into your car, it can be a bit of a pain. in terms of function, it is outstanding! I hightly recomment t he magnetic version for that extra security. the magnets on this thing are strong enough that this thing is going nowhere. it also has a compartment in the back for one bit kit as well. definitely worth the cost.

The opening for the belt is nowhere near deep enough to allow it to close over a law enforcement duty belt. The product seems very well made and holds the tool quite well. It just doesn't work on my duty belt. On the right of the Pic is the clip that came with the holder. On the left is a tek-lok that I took off of another piece of duty gear.

I pulled it out of the box before I went to bed, planning to use it the next morning. I was excited. It actually looks really cool and sturdy. Unfortunately, a chain is only as strong as it weakest link, which happened to be the belt clip. It's made of cheap plastic. While attaching the clip to my belt, the little thing that attaches the part that sits between the belt and the pants to the rotating attachment snapped off. Other than that, the metal that the tool pushes against to go into the sheath will assuredly put a lot of wear on the tool. The magnets also could use some work. After looking closely, it looks like they could fall off from dropping it once. I had high expectations. They were not met.

I really like this device, ease of use, durability and the overall look. Great product. My only nit pick is how far it protrudes from my belt, it gets in the way at times. Not a big deal as I found that by moving it further back on my belt gave me the clearance I was used to with my other sheath.

Plastic hinge is poorly constructed, broke within days of purchase. Now effectively is useful as a receptacle, it is much to large to wear in a pocket

I fell of my kayak in some wake and these held on tight to my Leatherman. Also it doesn't need oil, as it doesn't rust/tarnish.
