No, everything should be firm and tight. Do not attempt to use this with any loose connections.

The RSPCA and RSPB would probably disapprove. Can it be used in the kitchen to brown meat, poultry or vegetables? In principle, yes. However, this is not its intended purpose. There are dedicated burners available for culinary applications. This would be a bit like the proverbial sledgehammer and nut. Hope that this helps.
