I love the SNES shells for my Joy-Cons. Mine were having issues with the joysticks, so this seemed like the perfect time to change out the shells since I was going to have them apart. I watched the video on how to swap out the shells, and it was really easy to do. The shells fit together really well, and there's no rough edges, gaps, etc. I'm very pleased with these, and now my Joy-Cons are looking sharp!

Received the item on time. Item was well packaged and everything you need is already included, tools and all. My husband took his time doing the replacement. It is quite technical so if you are squeamish, then by all means, have someone professional to do it. Other than that, once completed, it gives your joy cons such a unique look. He's already gotten so many compliments about it. Highly recommended.

The shell is a perfect fit for my joycon. I wanted something that looked unique compared to other joy cons and these work great. First thing I will say is that it does come with all the tools you will require for the swap. The tri screwdriver and the phillips screw driver are included. They are replaceable tips but not magnetized from what I can tell. The buttons are all on stencils (I think that is what they are called). You do not have to worry about any nubs as they are hidden under the shell. The replacement was actually not too difficult. There are no real instructions on how to swap them out and I would still recommend you watch a video on this if you are new to it. Take things slow and it will be a pretty easy swap. All the replacement pieces match the original joy con shell in shape so you do not have to worry about the screws not fitting. One thing to note is that when putting the screws back you have to apply a little more force when closing it up. You will feel some resistance due the fact that the case is new. The overall look that i got was to match the original NES class but I do not think this really does the controller justice but still it looks great. The feel is definitely different from the original joy con controller. It feels sanded down and smooth. It grips pretty well and the buttons feel solid. After the replacement, I did not see any issues with the controller. Everything seems to work fine. Overall I think this is a solid replacement shell. You get a new unique joycon look and you can tell your joycons apart from others.

I’ve worked on small electronics before, so this swap wasn’t too difficult for me. I thought this was pretty easy especially with their YouTube video. The final product is very good. The soft feel is very nice and they look great.One issue I had was with the trigger buttons, but that’s mainly from the design of the controller. I kept losing the springs because they kept popping out easily. I also had to take the controller apart again because the replacement spring wasn’t strong enough, and the trigger button was floppy and loose. I had to take it apart and stretch the springs and now it is perfect. The included tools and replacement parts were perfect for this.I wish they had some kind of adhesive for the batteries. The original tape didn’t stick back to the battery, and it was flopping around inside the joycon. I just stuck some folded paper in there to hold it in place and now it doesn’t flop/rattle.I’ll probably be getting the rear shell as well to complete the look of my switch. Overall very satisfied with this product!

I'm giving it 5 stars even though it came with TWO ZR buttons (I didn't break my ZL when taking it off, but i DID break my original ZR soooo luckily it worked out in my favor). I bought this shell because my left OG joy con joystick was drifting so i figured, might as well change the shell to and I'm so happy that i did.The quality is way beyond what i expected - it really feels like the same quality as the original stock shells. Like you wouldn't even think this was an aftermarket product.The install is going to be difficult for anyone who has never done this before and BE CAREFUL with everything. Also, I didn't realize that there were little rubber nubs (that push the actual buttons) underneath the SR and SL buttons (the tiny ones on the rails) so I had to re-open my left joy con - easy fix though). Like others, I highly recommend you watch at least two different install videos because every person has different points that you might not have thought about). Also, yes it doesn't come with instructions, but it plainly states on the card that it comes with to go check out their install tutorial on their site.

I was really excited to get this for my partner, but when we went to install, there were a few the holes that striped right away and then broke so we just put the old ones back on. The first time it happened at install it wasn’t a big deal because it was the backing so we just mismatched with the original. But then it happened on front and back for the other side, so now it’s only one piece that was salvageable. :(

Love this joycon shell & button swap set! Nice, soft matte finish (a bit more textured that a stock Joy-con shell/ more grip). Buttons are a bit more tactile & satisfying to press after swapping. All in all, a great mod!As far as actually swapping shells & buttons go, this is a tad bit more difficult than an avereage contoller. Be wary of thin ribbon cables & the springs in shoulder buttons (they will fly out when swapping buttons & are nerve racking when trying to put back on correctly).There are tons of videos & some guides out there. Best video of teardown & swap is JerryRigEverything's. You get nice zoomed in shots of what he takes apart & replaces, plus he gives clear, detailed instructions.

Great quality for the price! I was a bit hesitant in doing the whole changing of the shells but all in all it was a fun experience for me (a pure beginner). The shell fits perfectly! And it’s lasted for a while now. I’d say go for it and good luck!
