I want to know if the bowl is actually made of marble or any stone like material or if it is just plastic?

The one I purchased; the outside is of the bowl is convincingly marble but I'm pretty certain that it is just really hard plastic (might be stone). The inside of the bowl is definitely plastic as well as the stem.

Do you NEED filters for it? Or will it it work without just fine?

No it doesn't need it! But just a small tip... If you take the top off and take out the little metal looking piece attached to it, you actually get a better pull. It works great and lasts long.

How long can i usually expect this to arrive to me on the east coast of the U.S.?
