Are these recommended for kids?

Size 12oz is definitely not for the children. On other hand, size 8oz might be good fit.

Do these gloves really go by body weight? i enjoy cupcakes a little too much and i’m over 200lbs. but it’s evenly distributed and i’m like 5’6.

I’m 6’1” 220lbs and they’re ok. If you hit hard like I do, buy something that is more expensive. These are cheap...you get what you pay for

I'm an old lady, 64 next month, and want to start working out with a heavy bag. No experience. Would these work?

I bought these for for 10 year old. the bag i bought from amazon came empty. i stuffed it with plastic bags so it is not to hard or heavy. if the gloves are the right size for your hands they should be fine.

I'm 5'11 and my hand is 7.5 inches long (tip of my middle finger to my palm). Will this fit?

I'm really unsure on this one Karen, I can tell you I have rather large hands, am 5'7 and they fit mine fine.. However if you think potentially your fingers are larger than normal I'd suggest you could always purchase, then return in same condition as they came for a refund.
