Decent product for small yards
Product can do what it's supposed to do with certain care in mind.Is this product good for 1/2 acre lots? No, it would take too long and you'd be wore out. So if you're looking for an exercise challenge, go for it.What do I mean with certain care? The times are made with a special screw that has a hex head, threaded on the underside, and is chiseled like a nail. The base is made of plastic, which holds the head of the screw. Use the wrench supplied and tighten the nuts underneath by feel, not by brute force. If you don't have decent balance don't try using this product as you'll likely stumble or worse. You never know when or how the ground is going to giveBecause the nail holes are so small you may have to take several steps around an area to break up the soil. It's also not drawing a plug out rather just causing a small separation in the soil that could easily cave in. So give yourself plenty of chances of absorption with plenty of holes. I was using a foot to foot sideways motion or doing a low lift marching motion.Final note: Can you use this product while walking behind a push mower? I mean you "can" but if you're not wearing these everytime you mow, and you don't mow every other day I'm not sure you'll see much of a benefit. Regular walking strides are to long and you wouldn't be making enough holesI think this product is best suited for spot repair. If you're trying to fix a compacted area or prep and area for seed and fertilizer.

Not a happy camper
I have been wanting years to aerator this awful lawn I’ve been blessed with, but it's very costly and what people use to pay back in the days is absolute with these lawn people prices and contract they want you to sign. The straps on these shoes left me frustrated as I spent 3 hours trying to adjust them to my feet that is so small for a lady. When I had thought I had it just right I'd walked a few steps and fell over injuring my back. Not only was the spike sharp which was easy to assemble, but it punched a hole in my brand-new hose when I fell over ( who's going to replace that I wonder?). It was my thought that this process putting it together according to the many reviews would be a breeze, but my tiny feet kept slipping and it just didn't work for me. After 3 hours with frustration, back pain and a puncher hose I threw them in the garage next to the wall. To be honest any elastic band would have been better to hold these shoes in place. Waiting to hear back from seller who probably does care what I think at this point.

Great Lawn Aerator +leg workout !
So much easer and efficient than the hand held foot style ! I would suggest after assembly ,to put them on while sitting on a garden bucket while on the lawn, same when removing them .I also used a walking stick just in case I got stuck super easy to walk in . I also found it better to lift feet straight up when stepping . So glade I made the purchase !

Not Quite As Advertised
These aerator shoe attachments are not quite what is advertised in the product listing. I found that I was only supplied with four of the six advertised straps mentioned in the description (which they proudly advertise as to why their shoes are superior). You can immediately tell this is needed as the spikes are long and dig deep into the soil and need a good pull to get out on the up-step.This leads to the second shortcoming. The straps are not at all what is shown in the listing. The buckles used in the photos and description are the spring-loaded tabs with teeth. The supplied buckles are cheaper strap loop-over kinds. This wouldn't be so bad, but they do not hold the strap at all. I don't think I got more than five steps along before everything started to let go.I really want to like these. Instead of returning, I may try to get extra, better tie-down straps (like in the advertised pictures) to improve these as they should have come. Hopefully this will have better results.

Simple, sturdy, and effective.
Some assembly required - you have to put each spike in place and bolt them, and then you have to thread the straps through. But that's not a big deal. It would have helped to have an illustration of how to thread the straps, I had to experiment a bit to get it right.Once I figured out the straps, it's a solid design. This is not a flaw in the product, only in my own use of it, but I wanted to share this information to save others some pain: do NOT try to use this produce while wearing sandals. :) It worked, but the buckles scraped some skin off my ankles. You definitely should wear high-top shoes like in the illustration. Also, if you use them while mowing (which is the perfect time), debris (especially leaves) will get stuck in the spikes and start to reduce how effective they are. So you should stop occasionally to clean them. It only take a couple of seconds to scrap the leaves and wet grass off. With those things in mind (wear high-top shoes or boots, and clean the debris out of the spikes sometimes) they work great!

Aerate at your own risk!
Super cool item that arrived as perfect as it appears in the photo. Sadly, no instructions were included and one spike was a flathead. It was a helluva workout trying to keep it securely latched because the fabric slips and there isn’t a harness to keep both straps from loosening from the tension created when pulling it out of the ground. The extra strap has to be tucked and slightly slows the entire loosening process. To avoid falling, be sure to use a pole for support
