A smoke alarm with a 10-year lifespan seemed like a good idea. Sadly, after just six weeks in use this one decided to keep sounding its alarm, as though it had detected smoke. There is no smoke - it's even in a space with an air purifier that's reporting very low particulates. Turned it off, left it fresh air for a day and turned it on again. It's immediately sounding the alarm again. OK, no problem, I'll use Amazon's excellent returns process. Oh dear, the item isn't eligible for return due to it containing hazardous materials. And I can't request a refund unless I have already requested a return, which I am not allowed to do. Something not right here, Amazon. Let's hope the marketplace seller is able to help. EDIT: Follow-up to the story is that the seller advised cleaning the unit with an air blower or vacuum cleaner. This did the trick, and it's not gone off again, at least for the subsequent few months.

Bought to replace the one that was already in our house when we bought it. Despite regularly testing the smoke alarm every month we were unaware they had a 10 year life span and when it did give up the ghost it had actually lasted one year extra than the 10 years guaranteed. Easy to replace existing one and good value for money!

I bought one of these smoke alarms in late 2015. It has been trouble-free and reliable. There was one actual incident during this time but the alarm sounded and alerted me in time to take action. There was one false alarm in this time caused by a small build-up of dust in the sensor area which was easy to clean. I've now bought a replacement of the same type for the next 10 years.

Do not buy this for anyone you care about. It seemed fine initially, but less than one year in it’s going off at all hours for a few beeps at a time. No smoke, nothing that should set it off, just goes berserk for a few seconds for no reason. Can’t be stopped because the battery is built in. Absolute waste of money and time.

I bought 2 of these alarms to replace ones that were out of date. Arrived on time, well packaged & with easy instructions for fitting. I bought these because of the 10 year battery life & the reviews that purchasers had provided. They were a reasonable price compared to other products. I have given the battery life 5 stars because of the claims that they will last 10 years. Time will tell if this is correct.

Mon détecteur de fumée étant HS au bout de 10 ans , j'en ai acheté un de la même marque et mêmes références pour ne pas avoir à changer le socle fixé au plafond ; normalement il devrait tenir une dizaine d'années , la batterie étant scellée , contrairement à certains dont il faut changer une pile 9v tous les ans d'après ce que j'ai lu ; donc on est tranquille , on n'a pas besoin de grimper sur un escabeau très souvent avec un modèle comme celui-ci ; en suivant les instructions de pose c'est ultra facile et il fonctionne une fois le système d'alerte enclanché ; pour le vérifier regarder au plafond , ce modèle clignote environ toutes les 40 secondes , ce qui prouve qu'il est "allumé ; je recommande cette marque bien placée pour les systèmes de détecteurs ; et j'allais oublier : ne jetez pas l'ancien à la poubelle : allez le porter dans une déchèterie .

De batterij van de oude was uitgeblust na 10 jaar zoals de gebruiksaanwijzing vermeld. Nieuwe volgens type nr van de oude besteld en uitgewisseld en deze was identiek aan de Aude paste exact. Goede koop minimaal aan werk aangezien de voet kon blijven zonder gedoe met aansluiten van draden.
