fed one hell of a hot supper on the first day
I bought this cause my grinder is a battery milwaukee that lasts about 10 mins of low pressure grinding and my old corded one got jacked out of my garage. I knew full well what the project was when I ordered it. I got a piece of a scrapped machine at work and wanted to use it for ballast in my 4x4 in winter without giving up cargo space with sand bags. I am a truck mechanic and have been for many years. I have put many quality grinders in their final resting place. Most of them you could tell on day one what to expect. This one will be with me at home for the rest of my years. I fed this thing a hot supper for 8 hrs strait upon receipt. amazon got it here 2 days before promised which was exactly when I needed it. I was finishing blowing snow when the mail man brought it and went right to work. I used up 8 cut wheels 3 gemini cut-n-grind (which are awesome) and 6 flap disks. First the bad. The guard is way too big. I am sure it is for consumables that have the built in nut because they are much taller. I cut and sanded it to be correct for the type I use. Then the spindle is too long. with a wheel on it sticks out 5/16 past the nut. so I took er to the belt grinder and with the motor running sanded it flush to the nut...took the nut off and feathered a little chamfer on it. Something inside was chattering when I started. I took the cover/spindle off of the gearbox and smeared the high quality moly grease over the ring gear, which was dry. the sound continued for about 20 mins then went away and it ran as smooth as any I have ever used. I think it may have been the brushes on the commutator getting acquainted. The good. More power than you need. The consumables can only handle so much. It is light weight/power balanced and smooth, after a break in period. Running a grinder is never "fun" so having one that can make the least work of it is important. 5 stars is not enough. There is sooo much junk out there now. this is not that. pro grade tool ready to work. 1 star assembled in USA. this is important to me as we make great stuff, I hope they expand on it. I bled red for many years but the future may hold primarily yellow for this reason alone. 1 star for power. 1 for staying cool. 1 for feels good in the hand. 1 star for fast and easy disk change. 1 star forthe cord, very flexible and did not get hot. 1 star for packaging, not excessive and went in my wood burner not the dump. 1 star cause yellow tools are hard to lose in a mess. lost a star as it did not come with the spanner for the nut, surely a packaging mishap. it did come with a 3/8 allen wrench that I have no idea why. still way over 5. I did have to remove a few wheels with the edge of a table yesterday. You just hold the lock, which is perfect on this tool, tap the wheel on the edge of the bench in the correct direction and it comes right off....you often break the wheel doing this but it is usually not one worth saving if you do.

Very satisfied
These grinders are top tier. Grabbed one for home use after extensive use of the dewalt brand at shop. Great for cutting and buffing

Excellent brand name reputation. Good, powerful angle grinder.
I am very happy with the performance of this DeWalt angle grinder. The user manual leaves a lot to be desired, though. However, most of the set up and operation is common sense (at least I felt that way). I used it to strip paint from a house foundation, and it worked very well. I want to emphasize that it's critical that the user wear appropriate safety gear: eye protection (safety googles) and proper respiratory protection (use a face mask that matches the possible particulate contamination that will become airborne and surrounds the user). Very happy to include this angle grinder in my DIY toolset. 4.75+ stars.

Good quality
I got this 11k amp delivered today and I already use the 7.5 amp in my shop the 7.5 has been amazingly reliable and durable.. this 11k amp is much heavier and I believe more powerful so the extra weight shouldn't be a burden!! For my hands I love the size and weight of the 7.5 amp this one feels a bit clunky compared to the smaller!! If it performs over time anything like the 7.5 it's a winner..grinded sum metal and used the wire wheel and it has plenty power!! I need two because stopping and changing between grinding and wire wheels gets old quick and I'm lazy!! I would give the extra star but it's clunkyness and lack of a break stop is sumthing to be desired!! Milwaukee uses a break stop and it's phenomenal 🙌!!!

Good value in a small angle grinder!
Although I do the majority of my angle grinder work with a 7" grinder, I also do a fair amount of work with a "small" angle grinder. I purchased this as a replacement for a Milwaukee 4 1/2" angle grinder. This grinder has noticeably more power, is more comfortable to use, and one feature I really like is the use of a large allen wrench to tighten/loosen the wheel nut. Most other grinders require you use a spanner wrench AND a shaft wrench. This grinder has a spindle lock button, and a single allen wrench (included) to tighten/loosen the wheel nut. It's a very simple and slick solution to the hassle of having to use two different wrenches to change wheels/discs. About the only CON I can see so far is that there is a safety "lock" on the paddle on/off switch (if you use an angle grinder much, don't ever buy one with a slide switch...they either wear out quickly, or jam up from grinding debris after a short time)..... which is awkward/difficult to manipulate when wearing gloves, and tends to "stick" when it gets dirty from grinding swarf/dust. I will likely remove it.... it's held in by a simple "roll pin". This grinder carries a 3 year warranty..... we'll see how that plays out..... I use grinders everyday, and likely put more work on one in a year then most people would in a lifetime.
