Q: Are these tiles renter friendly ? Can they be removed once installed and will they damage the wall if so?

I bought these for my daughter who lives in an apartment. They look great on the wall. She is renting her apartment but II’m not sure what her plans are for the future.

Hello, they are resistant to the heat of a stove. However, if you have a gas stove without a back control panel or metal plate, you must respect a safety zone (without Smart Tiles) of 20 cm (8 in.)

Q: Do these typically pull up paint or damage dry wall underneath?

I haven't tried to remove but I seriously doubt they would pull up the paint or drywall...they are thin and just have enough stick to stick...I am sure they come off as easy as they applied
