I am pleased with this book. The information is easy to follow and the stitches are beautiful. I love the way she breaks down the complex stitches for the reader to follow and reproduce them. The templates are brilliant…easy to make and when used properly, make lovely, even stitches that are perfectly aligned. I have many crazy quilt books but this one is fantastic!

This book is filled with beautiful glossy color pages to inspire anyone. The book isn't very thick but it's packed with ideas. Not a lot of detail on making the stitches but the pics are large enough to figure it out. There ARE several templates that you can trace or scan. I do recommend this book for anyone interested in crazy quilting.

I can't even tell you how awesome this book is. The ideas presented are easy to follow and yet they look sophisticated in practice. You can use the easiest form, or you can add to it until it looks like some of the most complicated art on the planet. I love artwork like this. If you buy this book as a beginner, you can use it all the way through your expert stage. Crazy quilts are a great way to recycle clothes, leftover scraps, found objects, etc. Take that trash and make a treasure with nothing more than a needle and thread! Just an idea: instead of printing out the stitch diagrams, you can create your own diagrams on graph paper. For tiny work, I recommend using paper with 10 squares per inch. For regular and larger sizes, 4 squares per inch is probably ok. I say this because I've noticed an unfortunate tendency of these urls to disappear a few years after a book is published. The illustrations (incl the diagrams!) in the ebook can be printed out at a printshop also, in case you can't access the online versions. I give it 9 stars. No typos, grammar is spot-on, illustrations and photographs are beautiful & book is professionally laid out. It has al the best parts of an ebook and none of the irritating parts. I received this book a couple of weeks ago, and I politely beg to differ with the review that says these are machine stitches. While my top of the line sewing machine has stitches that look like some of these, I can tell by the stitches and the weight of the thread used that these are hand stitches. I am a serious crazy quilter, and I have several of Kathy's books and have taken her classes. I use her books and templates on a regular basis. While I have almost every book out there on crazy quilting, Kathy's books are the ones I use the most. This one does not disappoint!! It is full of wonderful ideas!!! The above picture is a crazy quilt block I'm working on right now, and just about all the seams are done using ideas from Kathy's books and templates. I took it to show to my hand embroidery group last week, and everyone there was going to get this book. Thank you, Kathy, for another wonderful book!!!!

This is a really nice book that gives you lots of ideas for riffing on a theme of simple stitches, most of which I would never have thought of. You can also copy the templates at the back to help you place stitches correctly.

Ich habe mir das Buch bestellt, um weitere Ideen für meine Stickerei zu bekommen. Ich liebe das Buch, sehr schön gemacht. Es ist mal eine ganz andere Herangehensweise an das Thema Sticken. Bisher habe ich hauptsächlich einfache Stickarbeiten gemacht, jetzt kann ich auf einem ganz anderen Level sticken.
