This worked perfectly for our male golden doodle, about 65lbs. It took a bit of effort to figure out how to put it on, but I watched a few videos and eventually got it. Do get your dog warmed up to it first before taking on a walk, put it on in the house and practice with it as it will take the dog a bit to get used to it. At first they might not want to walk much but once they get used to it, you'll no longer have to deal with pulling on the leash for the most part.

Fits my dog perfectly. She's still getting used to it, but I think just time will fix that. It's made our walks so much better as a puppy. She's kind of bonkers. This actually allows me to walk her.

When I got the Gentle Leader, first thing I noted was how small and fragile looking the plastic clasps and buckles looked. This is going on my Golden Retriever who already pulls like a tractor. If one of those plastic clasps broke, he would be loose. I researched what other users on the internet said about this and I found it was recommended to use a back-up attachment to the regular collar, down further on the neck as usual , and put the GL up higher on the neck as they suggest. The end of the GL webbing that goes around the back of the dogs neck has a sew-in loop. I used an " S " hook/clasp and attached this to my dogs regular collar. Now if the clasp on the GL should fail, it is still attached to the regular collar, and my dog won't be able to run off, loose.

This is not my first time using a gentle leader on my lab...his other one wore out. This leader worked well for a few months but then the clasp below the mouth area started sliding down even with it fully closed. Ok, that was something I checked each walk. Now the WORSE is the clasp that closes to take it on and off my dogs neck. It's nearly impossible to get it to open up without struggling & pulling on it while on our dog. My hubby can't get it unclasped either & quit using the leader completely. My dog has fear aggression when male dogs start barking at him (bad dog park experience as a young dog). I'm not able to use another type of collar or harness because my dog is too strong for me to control on his once in awhile fear aggression --- lunging & pulling, with me being pulled off balance. I do not recommend this product for the poor quality clasps when defeat the purpose of having a system to walk ones dog.

Straps wider and more sturdier than expected

Genuinely a fantastic product. I was highly sceptical but decided to try and was shocked on its effectiveness. Was being used on a 1 year old Labrador girl. Initially, she tried to swipe it off her nose. Got used to the straps very quickly ( same day ) now wears it every day with zero, I really do mean zero pulling. Before, a harness was about the best way to keep control of her without causing any discomfort but as she grew and got so much stronger, this became an issue for her and her breathing. No more harness is required. Simply this product is all we use now. Can't speak highly enough of such a simple little pair of straps. No, your dog is not muzzled Yes, your dog can chase and pick up balls, sticks and even eat, drink etc.. with this on with zero issues. No, it doesn't cause them any stress or "rubbing" even with 2-4+ hour walks. No, it's not tight and neither will it fall off. It's very comfortable in its fit. Product pretty much is as it's described. really lightweight, Good quality straps, will definitely last a long time with daily use and can be tailored to fit your exact dog breed perfectly. Ho comprato questo "inibitore" per il mio cane perché spesso quando esce con altre persone che non siano me tende a tirare e questa cosa non va bene. Inizio subito con il dire che un cane che tira non è assolutamente una cosa da trascurare, la passeggiata con il nostro amico a 4 zampe deve essere un momento piacevole in cui l'uno e felice di stare con l'altro. Quando un cane tira è principalmente per vari motivi: 1) è stato abituato ad avvicinarsi ad ogni cane che troviamo per strada, di conseguenza il cane appena esce tira perché va di fretta che vuole incontrare i suoi amici (sbagliato, il cane deve essere felice di essere uscito con noi, noi non siamo il tramite per arrivare al divertimento, siamo noi il suo divertimento) 2) è agitato, sente mille odori, non sa cosa fare e va in eccitazione (sbagliato, il cane deve essere sempre sereno e tranquillo) 3) non ci rispetta e sa che tanto vince sempre lui la cosa che consiglio di fare in queste occasioni e lavorare con il cane cercando di fargli capire che più tira più non arriverà dove vuole, esempio: il cane tira per andare a sentire un odore su un albero avanti a noi, io mi fermo faccio il modo che lui non riesca ad arrivare all'albero senza che cammini anche io e lo faccio tornare indietro da me, appena si siede e si calma, continuo a camminare. Inizialmente è scocciante ma prima o poi il cane capisce che più tira più non arriverà dove vuole. ovviamente appena si avvicina a noi e cammina senza tirare lo premiamo con un bocconcino. detto questo, ci sono delle situazioni in cui è impossibile che il cane non tiri, ad esempio in mezzo ai boschi o in strade nuove o nel mio caso quando esce con persone che non conosce bene. In quel caso ci torna veramente utile questo collare. quello che amo di questo prodotto è che non fa del male al cane, ne gli provoca fastidio. il cane riesce ad aprire la bocca normalmente e non sente alcun dolore (come accade ad esempio con il collare a strozzo) unica particolarità è che appena il cane tira e quindi si tende il guinzaglio questo gli spingerà il muso verso il basso impedendogli di guardare avanti e facendolo fermare. inizialmente proverà a toglierlo in tutti i modi, non bisogna farsi impietosire, i cani sanno come farci tenerezza e ottenere quello che vogliono, prima o poi si rassegnerà e non ci farà più caso, una volta abituato vi troverete con un cane perfetto che non tira e che cammina perfettamente vicino a voi. (ovviamente un po' di guinzaglio fa lasciato al cane, non comprate quei guinzagli di un metro che lo costringono a caminare attaccato alla vostra gamba, preferite quelli almeno di due metri così da dare più libertà al cane) Ora la cosa più importante: l'utilizzo. Questo tipo di "inibitore" non va usato come mostrato dalle istruzioni e dalle immagin in confezionei, è veramente troppo sottile e non riuscirebbe a mantenere il cane in situazioni di pericolo. ecco perché per usarlo correttamente va messo insieme ad un collare classico, va quindi utilizzato un guinzaglio a doppio gancio (vedi in foto) in modo da avere una presa ottimale sul cane e di ricorrere all'inibitore sul muso solo quando necessario e non sempre. detto ciò, il prodotto e valido, e facile da far indossare al cane ed è regolabile per tutti i tipi di muso (ovviamente non è utilizzabile su carlini, bulldog e tutti quei cani con il musi schiacciato)
