Works great and easy to use, helped out alot with my christmas village this year

I normally don’t leave reviews but this is a must so easy to use and would highly recommend it to anyone needing to cut foam board now off to paint it and finish my project

Very cheap quality. The item gets so hot that it's melting the top part of the base and causing the tool inserts to move around. Not very save if the tool is moving around and pending from the plastic base melting. Why make the top insert plastic for an item that gets that hot.

Received my hand held Foam knife and hot wire cutter it seems to work pretty good I did a simple test of each of the Cutting tools the Hot Wire bow works Really well and heats up to cut quickly, The Long knife and the Short one do not cut as easily and I noticed that they do not heat up very quick at the tip if you want to pierce the foam (I'm using primarily xps foam) but we will have to test it further and see if time gives it heat at the tip for penetration holes in the foam. We will have to see how it handles over time but its a nice set of starter tools and its thoughtful tthat they not only give the NICAD wire Strung on the Hot wire tool but they give you a few feet of extra wire. The Tips interchange fairly easy there is some tightness in fitting each which is good so that you don't have the tips falling off during work. The Blades do get really hot at the sides so Please Be aware if you touch them you could get a nasty burn. Overall a good and useful crafting tool at a reasonable price.

It was so easy to use. Heated up very fast and cooled off just as fast. First time using one of these tools and was amazed!

Honestly this is the 1st time using this type of tool. I had know idea what to expect. They make it look so easy on Youtube. But the price was good and so I thought I would give it a try. I had to make a bunch of decorations for Halloween out of Styrofoam and thought this would help. The wire kept snapping and the two probes just eat away to much foam for the level of detail I was looking for. I was getting very frustrated with the whole thing and decided to use the old hacksaw blade and box cutter knife that I had used before. When the company contacted me to ask how I was enjoying the product I told the honestly and they said they would send me some more wire and to go very slowly with it. To my surprise they sent me a brand new kit along with new wire and I tried it with more success. I do not know if I just am getting the hang of it or if the 1st kit was defective. Anyway the customer service was very good and I hopefully get many good uses out of this hot wire cutter kit. I think this tool would benefit from some way to regulate the temperature as I think that is why it eats too much foam. Bottom line , for the price and customer service I was satisfied.

Works quite well, C shaped cutter is difficult to remove from the handle. I was cutting 1.5. Inch foil backed foam insulation board.

This is great for crafts, as well as pretty good for DIY and home improvement stuff. The wattage is low enough that it can be run from a DC-to-AC converter (and then back again via its power brick) from a car. Makes nice clean cuts if you are patient with it and let it do the work and don't rush through. That said, if you are looking for a really fast way to cleanly and neatly cut through lots of foam (like insulation panels) get a much higher wattage device like a pro model heated foam knife. This product works really well on small carvings and tight details. It even does a great job of running holes through foam to pass wires and stuff. I don't really fault it for not being able to handle heavy loads that require quick cuts through lots of material. Not what its made for.
