JBL Flip Portable Stereo Speaker with Wireless Bluetooth Connection (Black)

I have recently replaced my iPhone 4S with an iPhone 5, and since then have been suffering from lack of interface support with all of my charging/speaker docks. I have an expensive JBL speaker dock and a couple of other fairly portable ones with great sound quality... and now I cannot use them without an adapter, and the phone does not fit in them with the case... major pain in the behind.We were at a party at friends' house and he was using a tiny bluetooth lousy, horrible sound little speaker that annoyed me to tears because I have very sensitive hearing and I cannot stand bad sound quality, so I started looking on Amazon on my phone for better alternatives that evening. When we got home I researched several of these speakers, and at the end decided that due to my previously great experience with JBL products, and the combination of size/price and features, this speaker is a good choice.I received it a few days ago and boy am I surprised. First of all I was sure it was going to be much larger, so the size was originally a suspicious surprise as I expected less than ideal sound quality with this size, but when I took it out of the box and paired it with my phone in 10 seconds, and started playing some tracks that I usually use to test out sound systems - and I was very pleasantly surprised.Since then I have been playing music on this thing for like 18 hours a day. I put it on the mantle in the living room and it fills up the room beautifully, I did not even reach the full volume setting and the sound quality is absolutely superb.The battery lasted about 7 hours of playback today until I charged it - it did not even die, I just plugged it in eventually.I am very very happy with this purchase, I am one of those people who despite being a technology freak, takes some time to adopt new technologies due to quality concerns. I did not believe that bluetooth connection could produce such high quality sound, and I am very happy to find out that I was mistaken.The only thing that is a bit annoying, is that I forget it is my phone which is producing the audio, and if I cover it or put it under my arm when I am carrying the baby around, the sound will jump and stop because of the bluetooth, but that is the phone and not the speaker.All in all, definitely 5 stars. Very good value for the money and so easy to operate with my MacBook Air, iPhone, and iPad.

I recently purchased the JBL "Flip" from Amazon and I am amazed over its good quality and flawless performance. I have an iPhone 5 and because I'm getting long in the tooth, my hearing isn't what it used to be (hearing loss is just one of many losses). The iPhone's speaker quality was not good sufficient for me. I assumed an external speaker would be what I was looking for. I called the Apple Store and told them what I was looking for and they suggested another JBL device called a JBL Micro Wireless for $49.95. When I got it I was surprised at the small size but the sound coming out of it was acceptable. It played the music from my iPhone without any problems BUT since it doesn't have it's own built in microphone you can't use to to talk on the phone unless you insert the built in connector into the iPhone headset port. That connector has a reach of about 12". Once again I went to Google and searched for remote speakers. I wound up at JBL and reviewed their "Flip". After reading their specs and stuff I reviewed the customer reviews on Amazon (I find that I rely on the reviews more and more) and they were very favorable. Amazon had the same price that everyone else had I checked so I ordered the Flip in color black, although it comes in various colors.It does everything I wanted it to do PLUS it has a feature that isn't advertised. If you leave it plugged into the charger, it automatically disconnects from power once its charged. That is a big plus for me because as long as I'm in my residence it'll be plugged in. It's 5 hour battery life will seldom be challenged because I don't drive a five hour drive anymore. I highly recommend this device for functionality, clarity, and ease of use. The directions are a little strange but it didn't take me long to set it up without using them. As you can see, I'm only one of hundreds of Amazon customers using the Flip.Lee
