Wow! I was skeptical but these balls really work! They really keep your sheets firm ending up as a burrito or ball and they dry faster. Definitely worth it. I now use the in most bigger loads of clothes.

Edited 12/26/2025: The original set of dryer balls purchased in 2023 finally wore out (plus new rescue kitten decided to attack & destroy several). 2nd set arrived this past week and between the balls & a new dryer, clothes are once again drying faster and little to no static cling. We bought these back in 2023 because normal dryer sheets were irritating our son's eczema, but we still wanted our clothes to be soft. We saw these here on Amazon and decided to try these out and was pleasantly surprised at the results! These dryer balls help dry your clothes faster and with less static cling. In addition, there is no scent that could irritate people with sensitive skin or allergies. These have lasted us several years now but with a family of just 3, we don't do as many loads of laundry as other families may so the longevity will vary depending on your usage. It's now 2025 and we will be placing a new order very soon as we've begun to notice static cling is starting to return and loads are taking longer to dry. As a side note, in case anyone is worried about the noise level of the dryer balls bouncing around in the dryer, we have never really "noticed" this unless it was a very small load such as when I dry a hand washed delicate cycle but then again, with the balls included, the run time was significantly shorter. Therefore, noise level was not an issue for us.

I've been buying and using these wool balls for years. I love them. They last about 2 years.. they work at helping to dry things more quickly. I purchased these as a gift. Everyone I share them with gets hooked. You get 6 in an order - I use 12 so I always order 2 sets. As for use as a fabric softner - I don't really think they work well as "fabric softners" - but they do work to keep the laundry separated and therefore the laundry dries faster! Love these! They're a great size, so the four are perfect for my laundry needs. I used them after I washed two pillows and they dried faster than normal. I also used them with a couple of blankets, and they dried soft. No issues, no smell. I did not notice any static. They seem as if they'll last quite a while. Great price, too. Would recommend.

After the few test trials, I am confident to confirm that the dryer balls indeed speed up drying time if you do not overload your dryer (small- medium size clothings). I've put some essential oil on the balls in absent of not using softener, it smell heaven. Here is the bad news for those who are thinking to use for bedding (quilt cover, and sheets), let's be realistic, small balls will be tangled on large items and please put down you expectation. Otherwise, these dryer balls are useful, can keep your towels fluffy and your energy savings happy.

Bought them as read a recommendation of using them when tumble drying a down jacket. They worked but are absolutely brilliant for everything. Instead of shaking bedding after the end of one cycle and putting it back in, in now dries in the first cycle. They just live in my dryer now.
