Yes it is ground fine for espresso, not super fine for Turkish coffee.

Q: IS this the same coffee that comes in the red and brown Kimbo espresso napelatano can?

It definitely seemed like it to me. At least, we've had no complaints at all. We use a stove-top "moka" and the espresso comes out very well.
