3M Perforated Trim Masking Tape 06348, Molding Paint Protection, Trim Lifting Tape, Hand Tearing, 15 mm Hard Band, 50.8 mm x 10 m

After searching for months and months for the rear window seal for my rear windshield/window for a 30 year old car I'm repainting - I found out that nobody has one and nobody's making them. It's not removable and reinstall-able, so no taking it off and putting it back on, no going to the junkyard to find another one. Therefore, I would have to protect this one really well AND be able to spray behind the existing window seal so as not to have a hard line where the new paint job will absolutely begin to chip/fail if all I did was spray up to the seal line (the painted body goes underneath the seal), and of course it's a long border with the roof and the rear panels to take that kind of risk - so I went to 'utube university" to a solution - and finally I found THE video telling me about this product. Just got done spraying and sanding primer, and took the tape off today, and I'm tickled pink at how well this product protected my irreplaceable window seal. It lifted the seal just enough to get up under the seal (so no hard line) - not a mark on my seal. I did apply green auto masking tape to the body of the seal, then I used this product over the top of that tape- then I ran another layer of tape joining all these little pieces together, then auto painting plastic over the top and the window itself. It's a little tedious and I can't say I'm looking forward to doing it again, but I'd rather start the actual paint/clear coat process with fresh tape and plastic- and now I know it's 100% worth the time and effort.

I was a bit skeptical at first but after trying it I found it was a really great product. It pushed the windshield molding up just enough to get underneath it and made it easy to mask and sand.

Worked as it should and saved time. Did not have to take out the windshield and the rear slider on my 84 GMC C15 to paint it. Can’t tell at all!

ガラスの縁のゴム等に挿し込んで引っ張ってテープを貼るだけでモールを起こせるので大変便利です。 テープの方はミシン目から簡単に切れるけど挿し込みする硬い方は簡単には切れないのでハサミを使ってます。 ちょっと手間です。

板金屋に聞き購入したのですが、1枚ずつ切れるのですが長さが短くてそれを車の窓枠一周するのに大変でした。 もう少し長くても良いような？ 繋げて使うと途中で切れたりするので、ダメですが接着力は強く、削ってエアで飛ばしてサフェ塗って本塗装しても大丈夫でした。
