Two year update ~
I’ve had this for about 2 years now, and I can honestly say this is amazing. I used it to sew up patches in our pop up camper and it has been abused lol. It’s very heavy duty and easy to use.

Best glue I have ever used.
I didn't use the needle part of this kit but the glue and canvas worked absolutely amazing! I think when you have a pop up camper and you experience the first couple tears it's just best to get a giant piece of canvas and cut it to the window size and glue it over the old. It will save you many headaches in the end. This glue was very easy to use and worked great for us.

Great for camper repair
I bought a mid-60s pop up tent trailer. While the canvas is in remarkably good condition, there were a couple spots at the bottom that are under tension being tightened down when it's set up and have torn. Previous owner attempted some repairs and previous adhesive patches had failed because of the tension (as evidence by the residue). This kit is wonderful. I cut my patches, one for inside and one for outside, and used the fabric glue to secure them. Then I used the sewing awl to go around it. The thing punches through 5+ layers of canvas easily. It's very easy to use, and once you get the hang of it it's pretty quick. I used a dot of clear nail polish to secure the knot and dab on the edges so the patches don't fray. There's no way the canvas will fail with the patches on. I have TONS of canvas left over and I didn't even go through the spool of cord loaded into the awl - this is a seriously good deal to have on hand.

It works well on canvas boat covers
I have a canvas mooring cover for my boat (actual cotton canvas, not Sunbrella type material). It had worn holes in the corners that mate with the windshield and I wanted to repair. The patch material was heavier than the cover, which is good. I used the glue to glue on the patch (applied to both surfaces) and then the next day I stitched the perimeter of the patch. The stitching takes some practice, but OK once you get the hang of it. It doesn't help if you are working far from the edge of your work because you have one hand on each side and I had a big wad of canvas to deal with. It's not pretty but I think I have a good patch.

"Needle works"
System works well BUT the Tear Mender 'Glue' was hard as a rock. It does not come out of the bottle. No use at all. Disappointing.

Now more leaks
If you have a pop up camper with holes or rips in the canvas, use this kit. Find a video on YouTube on how to use the sewing awl. Cut the fabric to match the size of the patch, use some but not a ton of glue on the edges of the hole, sew it on well, then glue the seams again. My beat up camper was waterproof after a day of repair

I had bought a used pop up tent trailer. They had taped up a corner and they said it wasn't that bad of hole. Well, it was huge spot that had to repair. I didn't think it would be hard to find a canvas repair kit as this is something I was sure to be needed by many others. Wow, I was wrong!!! All the repair kits are for general tents or just a tiny quick patch and not something very durable. This was the only Canvas Repair Kit I could find anywhere! That is scary. It does come in 2 sizes. I was going to think maybe finding a whole replacement would be easier. Nope. They all want you to ship the whole thing to them for them to make one and charge an arm and a leg. So enough about my story of why I had to purchase this. I had a large part which I had to repair so not little patches were going to work. This is a all in one kit. It comes with adhesive, nice size piece of canvas and sewing needle. First, the adhesive mending glue. Sorry, but this thing is totally useless. It is literally liquid white stuff that just slides off and was impossible to use. You put it on the item or the canvas they provide and it just runs off and gets everywhere. Also, when it dries, it just turned into a soft rubber that wouldn't stick to anything so just peeled off or rubbed off. Was not happy with the glue at all. Now, the glue did barely hold the piece in place so I could use the needle and thread to put in place. That was the saving grace. I checked an online video to verify on how to use the Awl Needle and verify I was reading the instructions right. It is time consuming but worth it. There was no way the glue was going to hold a patch in place and be strong. As you can see in my pic, I think I did a good job sewing the area for my first attempt, no practice run. My other complaint is you only have 1 choice of color, light tan. It would be nice to have a few color options like some of the small patches come in. So overall, I am happy with the repair kit as it did the job and came out good and would use again. Just the limit of 1 color and poor glue quality is only downside.

The only good thing about this kit is the glue. This is marketed as a great kit and I cannot speak for other reviewers but, the canvas is treated on both sides with a coating similar to artists canvas. As a result the glue will NOT stick to the canvas that comes with the kit. The stitching tool is ok, but you can probably find that for five bucks and the glue is pricy but they sell it on here for sixty. Bottom line is buy the glue, source your own material and buy the stitching tool of you need to. this kit gives you $65 worth of stuff for $130.
