CAP Barbell Olympic Trap Bar and Shrug Bar for Deadlifts

I love this trap bar, I’m a relatively new lifter with some experience and traditional lifts tend to hurt my lower back occasionally. With this trap bar it eliminates all that pain while still targeting those muscles it feels great to use and is really sturdy, just step in and get to lifting. Set up was a cake walk, and I feel every rep. I’ve put 200 on to start and it feels like it can handle a lot more, Great purchase!

I put this beast together easily. It’s not one solid piece of metal like the more expensive hex bars but once everything was tightened, it’s a solid hex bar. Feels very sturdy and built to last. The paint quality is nice and the metal is nice and thick. I bought the blue one because it was the cheapest and color did not matter to me. I only loaded two 45’s on each side but it handled it well. I don’t plan to lift heavy due to back issues (the reason why I got this.) I’m 5’4 so I stand on blocks to get a deeper squat since this has a built-in stand to prevent your weights from touching the ground. Very happy with this hex bar. Wish I bought it sooner.

Very well built trap and deadlift bar by CAP. Great look with the blue and easy to use. Good size and room for anyone. Easy assembly also. This will definitely last. This could easily hold 500 pounds with ease. The feel is spot on.

This trap bar exceeded my expectations. Super easy to assemble—every hole lined up perfectly, all the hardware was included, and the instructions were clear (not always a given with gym equipment). I almost bought a used one off Facebook, but this was *new* and *cheaper*... and honestly, I’m glad I went this route. The build feels solid and the finish looks great. Only minor complaint: one of the weight sleeves is a little tight with my Rogue plates. If the angle isn’t just right, it takes a little shimmy to get the weight on or off. Not a dealbreaker, but worth noting. I've had it for about 6 months in a garage in the humid TN summer. Haven't noticed any rust spots, and also haven't performed any maintenance on it, so it seems to be rust resistant on its own. There is no knurling on the handles. For the price and overall quality, I’d absolutely buy it again—still a great lift for your buck.

It was very easy to assemble. It is extremely sturdy and better quality that anticipated. I watched people’s videos of the bar being loose, and well, it needs to be tightened. I used a socket wrench and adjustable wrench and tightened everything up no problem. I’m a female and assembled by myself in about 20 minutes. You have to retighten things over time. That’s normal. Also, all of my plates fit. You really have to get plates from reputable brands if you want things to be correct. There is not as much standardization of sizing when it comes to off brand/cheaper plates. I’m not knocking having to purchase plates based on a budget, I get it. But it is not this products fault that the plates don’t fit.

This trap bar is exactly what I needed for deadlifts and shrugs at home. The build feels solid and it handles weigths without any wobble or flexing, even when pushing it close to its max. The green color looks pretty cool, it adds a little character compared to the standard chrome or black bars. Only reason it's not 5 stars is the finish scuffs a bit easier than I expected. It doesn't affect performance, but worth noting if you're particular about looks. Still, it’s definatly a good bar and a solid addition to any home gym setup. I suggest getting some grip tape on the bars to help with your grip. Value is there. Thickness is ideal for a trap bar. Workout is top notch now without hurting the back.

Really heavy duty bit of kit. Very happy with my purchase I found it much easier than deadlifting no back issues. freed up my Olympic bar for benching. Not difficult to put together just don't get the bolts mixed up. Really glad I got this when I did & at that price. Pukka.

Good hex bar. I use it with Olympic bumper plates and it's just fine. I only go up to about 140kg or so but it's a solid unit and it's clear that it's not going to break. The height is good in that the bumper plates hover just off the ground about 1cm, so you can slide them on and off without having to prop up the bar. Overall would recommend for anyone setting up a home gym.
