Comfortable Headset/Mic with great sound
Excellent sound from the built in DSP - Almost as good as my 5.1 surround speaker setup. Crystal clear reception from the mic on the other end based on feedback from others in-game while listening to me talk. Headset cord length more than adequate. Very comfortable ear foam - even after hours of gameplay. Some people have reviewed this item and claim to have had trouble with this headset. Specifically, they can hear sound fine, but the mic seems not work in games but works fine in windows. This is just plain false - the same thing happened to me initially. This is a USB headset and you have to realize that most games are designed to search for your sound card or mobo's default mic as opposed to the headset's mic. The reason being, that many people like to have a separate mic only for talking but want to hear the game sound on their PC speakers. Obviously, if you are reading this, you probably want an integrated solution like I did. Here is how to fix this: Go into Control Panel / Sounds & Audio Devices. On BOTH the Audio and Voice Tabs for the Sound Recording and Voice Recording menus, respectively, you need to UNCHECK the Microphone and Line-In boxes on the Properties tab for your sound card or mobo's onboard audio. This will force the game you are playing to then default to the next available mic which will be on your Plantronics headset, and you will be golden! By the way, I informed Plantronics of this fix because they were unable to help me (but their customer service is top notch, FYI).

Good Headset, but. . .
I ordered the headset from Techdepot (Office Depot) through Amazon. The headset was available at [...] or through Amazon.com. Ordering through Amazon was cheaper, even though it actually came from Techdepot. The headset sound is good, and my friends tell me the mic works well. The headset is a USB headset. I had not used a USB headset before and had not considered that when I plug in the headset it would alter the settings on my PC. Unlike a "normal" headset with a mic in and audio out jack, when you plug in or unplug a USB headset, you may find that you have to change the settings in your audio properties or have to start or restart your program before the headset will work. This is a bit of an annoiance. Except for this issue, the headset works great and sounds great. Just consider that you need to plug it in before you start your game or communication program.

Weak and distorted sound from boom microphone
The Plantronics GameCom pro1 headset was very comfortable with good sound from the earphones but a weak and distorted sound was reported by my friend from the microphone when using Skype. He had difficulty in understanding what I was saying.I would not recommend them. Maybe the set I have is faulty. I am returning them as unsatisfactory.

Great when it was working
I bought this headset to play World of Warcraft and oh what an improvement over my separate headphones and mic. The sound was suprisingly good and I got no complaints when I spoke. I actually came out very clear. I had an issue in XP when I switched between the headset and my speakers where there would be no sound but when I switched to a Vista machine I had no problems. I had it for a couple of months then there was no sound coming out of one side. I probably could have used the warranty but I didn't really care since I stopped playing WoW and don't use the headset anymore. It was probably my fault anyhow being rough and careless with it. If you are like me and tend to pull the wires a lot by accident go find a wireless one.

Best headset I've ever owned
First off, I've gone through 4 of these (with one in its package waiting, a backup) in my life. It is no longer made which is a shame. When they were being made, I could buy one new for $40 or so and it was worth it. I don't know if it's worth this exhorbitant price but it might very well be. I haven't seen anything else out there that has ALL the features of this. The sound quality is stellar, just stellar, in all registers, and I use it for listening to music, gaming and voice-chat, often many of the above at once, and it performs well. It's very comfortable, and since I wear this all day long, every day, I don't want a headset that I take off and I feel the effects of having worn a headset. I don't want any pinching or discomfort. This is comfortable, completely comfortable. The adjustable swing arm is another nice touch...I can raise or lower it to tweak how well someone hears me without having to adjust mic volumes in skype, so that is handy (and I like having it up at my forehead level so I don't hit it when eating or drinking). Lastly, I like the noise cancelling muffler on the mic. Other people (with different sets) usually have echo or static or feedback, I do not. Everyone says my sound is clear as a bell, no background garbage. I love this thing. I wish Plantronics would start making them again (oh, and it's a USB so yay!)Bring these back!

Surprisingly Good Sound
I purchased this headset for voice recognition, I'm not a gamer, but I do listen to music, videos, etc. This thing has surprisingly transparent, well-balanced sound, almost as good as my 4x as expensive home stereophones. Why am I surprised? Because the build quality just doesn't inspire confidence. It is very lightweight, snap-together plastic, and I can't believe it sounds as good as it does. The upshot is that the ergonomics are also excellent; it is lightweight and comfortable to wear all day without fatigue. It will fall off if you shake your head hard or lean too far forward, but that's better than being too tight around your head (check reviews on some other USB headsets). Also the long cord is a mixed blessing; you WILL get it tangled around your foot/leg and yank the headset off your desk, and I suspect this is how most of these are broken.I've had this for 6 months and no regrets. Will I buy another one when it breaks? Perhaps, but I'll check out some pricier models with better build quality. Still, if this headset is in your price range, I think you'd be pleased with it's overall performance and ergonomics.
