My Mother-in-law, who turns 101 in a few weeks, often forgets to hang up her wireless handset by pressing the red button before she lays it down. As a result, unless she put it in the cradle, it was like leaving a corded phone off the hook. Nobody could call her. This little box totally solved the problem. Now, if she forgets the "hang up" by pressing the button the box will automatically disconnect the call after a few minutes. Now the family can reliably call her even when she forgets.

The device I received would hang up often during calls at 8-22 minutes randomly, when set on 60 minutes. Confused the heck out of my 86 year old mother, who lives an hour away. When I tried to return the defective product, they refused saying it was outside of Amazon's return policy window, not seeming to understand that it was defective. Maybe English isn't an easy language for them to understand? Fortunately, our state has really good warranty laws, so the battle continues, but I'll end up with more time into the battle than the device cost me! But seriously, check out your Attorney Generals website for warranty laws in your state, who knew?

Unit made phone have a buzz

I purchased this to solve the problem of my mom leaving the phone off the hook frequently. I tested it once and it worked like a charm. After that it didn't at all. It's as if it was turned off (it wasn't). I then happened to be on a call on her line and it cut me off after being on the line for just a few minutes (it was set to cut off at 60 minutes). I'm giving it 2 stars since it may have just been defective.

Needed a device to allow calls to come in if phone didn't hang up and it did the trick for me. My mom kept confusing the TV remote and the handset so she would accidently press the answer button which would quickly bypass her phone and ring at the Auto box and hang it up if she forgot to hang up after a call for a predesignated time. (15/30/60 or unlimited) The unlimited pretty much disables the box.

Bought for elderly father who didn’t always hang up the handset Love that it amplifies the ringer! Just set the settings to 15 minutes and good to go!

Very dissatisfied with this product. Unable to be used with the home phone because it would totally eliminate calls coming in. Had to disconnect from the phone system never to be used again.
