OAGear Backpack 20 Can Cooler

Hats off to this product! I ordered this backpack as a replacement to our heavy but compact plastic cooler that couldn't keep drinks cold for even 6-7 hours despite packing a lot of ice (packs). Where we used it: Two 12 hour road trips, multiple half day trips to the beach. How we packed it: Placed cold drinks (1 1/2 liter juice bottle, 5 soda cans, multiple water bottles, with 1 bottle each on the sides, 1 sandwich box, a snack box). Packed all this with a few squares of flexi freeze ice sheets (from amazon). How it performed: After the road trip - Just amazing. Everything fit comfortably and most drinks were FREEZING cold for at least 4 hours, then cooled down to refrigerator temps for the next 4-5 hours. By the time we unpacked at the end of our road trip, some of the ice packs were still intact without melting, a couple of bottles were ice cold. At the beach - Again, just amazing. We carried just one more tiny lunch bag for snacks that did not need refrigeration but this backpack was just beautiful for that beach day. It kept everything super cool throughout the 4 hours we spent on the beach, beer was extra chilled. As long as you ensure to keep it zipped up as soon as you take out what you need, the insulation is perfect for even a 6 hour trip in hot sun. Also, we used the outer pockets to store our cell phones and other accessories (in zip lock bags to be doubly safe). We were very impressed with it's performance after our road and beach trips. Definitely a quality product.

I bought this last summer for a trip to the zoo -- brought my own lunch, which tasted better and cost less. Since then, I've used it 4-5 times for picnics and going to work (we like big lunches sometimes). It holds a large amount of cans, food and whatever else you want to keep cold -- probably enough for 3-4 adults at lunch. It rides comfortably on my shoulders and back for hours at a time -- good padding in the shoulder straps and against the back. And with my pair of K-mart cold packs, it really does keep things cold all day long. Highly recommended because it has good capacity, it's well insulated, and the fabric/zippers/tie downs appear to be quite durable. I expect to have this one for a long time. A well designed and well made product at a good price.

Got these for a yearly beer festival. Needed something compact that would allow me to keep my supplies cold. I looked at several more expensive bags but this had all the features I needed and so we went for two of these. Great decision. We have used it several times now. It fits plenty of food, beverages and still room for ice packs.. better yet is to freeze some water bottles and use them to chill the contents as they melt and become ice water to drink. The only knock I have is the straps are not very long and with me being a bit bigger, if I am wearing a heavy coat they can be a bit tight wearing it.. Otherwise though it seems well built. After several uses, all the zippers work, the liner is intact and doesn't leak and it is still going strong. Very happy with it.

It fits so much more then you'd imagine. I pack 3 bottles of gaterade, 3 bottles of water, a container of food, a yogurt, some string cheese, chips, utensils, etc...plus ice packs & it not only remains cold but still has room to spare. Part of hubby's job is climbing up some of the highest buildings in NY city so the fact that this is a bookbag is very useful to him because he's got free hands to carry up work related tools & not need to make many trips back down these buildings. Hubby sometimes rides his motorcycle to work & this bag is awesome for that as well. ***Edited 3/24/2021*** My husband uses this bag for work 6 days a week. Still functions great. No leaking, not falling apart. Keeps his drinks & food cool.

This is an extremely unique and well made insulated backpack for food storage. I work 12 hours a day in a home setting and get no breaks for lunch. I have to take all my meals for the day with me and any drinks that I want. That takes up a lot of space especially when you add ice packs. This pack works very very well. I have put cans of cola in the bag with one ice pack and 24 hours later the soda pop was still cool. It wasn't extremely cold. But then again and it been 24 hours and being chilled at all is impressive. My only criticism might be that it doesn't have any kind of a semi rigid frame. Perhaps that would go against its intended design but it would be easier to work with when filling it as it tends to fall over until you get the bottom of it filled. If you're in a hurry that could be us like frustration but other than that this bag is perfect and will do exactly what it says it will do and do it better. If you're looking for a larger soft cooler for food storage and or beverages, this is what you're looking for without a doubt

I purchased this cooler backpack to take to amusement parks, and it worked better than I expected! It's sturdy, and held 5 reusable 20 oz water bottles along with our sandwiches, fruit, and cold pack. It kept everything good all day. The front pocket is the perfect size for other incidentals that we needed, such as an epi pen, plasticware, granola bars, sunscreen and wipes. The side pockets are deep and able to hold things without the fear of them falling out; it was perfect for our reusable theme park drink cups. The pack distributed the weight nicely, so that even my 10 year old carried it without complaint. The best part is that the cooler liner on the inside can turn completely inside out, which makes for easy cleaning or drying out from the condensation of our cold water bottles. I haven't needed to use the bungee on the top, but it looks like it would be useful for carrying a blanket or big towel for sitting on, or an excellent place to put those stuffed animals that are won. I am so happy I found this cooler backpack! It made our transition from strollers that hold everything for us at the park to backpack perfect, now that my youngest has outgrown it.

Bought this for our trip to the Virgin Islands. I used it as a carry on for the flight then when we got to our cabin I used it for the beach. It was handy to carry drinks and food. I liked the fact it was a backpack since my hands were usually full of snorkel gear and towels and we did A LOT of walking. The only downside was the ice melted quickly and then it would leak. Our cabin didnt have a refridgerator so we relied heavily on bags of ice. I tried putting ice in zip lock bags and it helped a little. It was very hot at the beach all day so I didn't expect it to stay very cold, although cans stayed cold for a few hours. The zipper also caught the inside lining and tore it. It served its purpose for the trip. Probably wasn't meant to carry drinks but it worked. I think if it was used for short trips to keep sandwiches cold it would be fine.

I WILL BUY THIS PRODUCT AGAIN. I love product reviews that pick apart every little thing. This product is as near perfection as it gets. Look folks, this is not a 50 pond backpack. If you need that much beer, bring a cooler. It is perfect for 6 cans (maybe 8) plus ice. I still had ice after 8 hours. The liner is heavy gauge vinyl. It does NOT leak. I have no plans to turn it upside down. If I did, I would expect the zipper to leak. The straps are well made with reinforced stitching. I do not expect any issues. Don't overload it! There are 2 mesh pockets for water bottles. There is a small pocket for cellphone, keys, wallet. I do not expect ANY backpack, regardless of price, to last mote than a couple years. When this one wears out, I got my money's worth. I will buy another one just like it. I do not know how they make such a great product at such a low price. I love it..
