120V to 100V 500W Step Down Voltage Converter for Japan appliances in US

This is my second step-down transformer from this brand and it works great, doesn’t overheat, solid construction and decent price.

Perfect for my Japanese consoles! Needed this for my 2 Japanese PS2 consoles. Recommend getting this as you will eventually fry your console without it.

I bought this converter to help me safely run the Japanese Sega Saturn I bought last year. (I read online that a converter technically isn't needed as the PSU and the PCB are rated for both JP and US voltage, but I didn't want to take the chance. And I own other Japanese consoles I don't want to risk damaging.) It works flawlessly, silently, looks nice, and is a solid piece of hardware. It's exactly what I needed for my Japanese console. I'm happy with my purchase.

Worked great on my Yamaha CX-A5100 preamp processor from Japan. I measured the voltage and power associated with this device. Very accurate voltage and efficient. Runs cool and looks to be built well.

I got this for my technics sl1200gr2 from Japan and is working fine so far. Voltage is right on the money at 100.8vac.

I’ve been an audio fanatic/critic for decades. Bought this to run a vintage Yamaha YP-D51 (still a hidden gem on eBay from Japan and near-mint examples are still under $500USD) turntable. It’s wattage rating is way overkill for that application but for about $20.00 more than a 100W, this 500W, 120V-> 100V step-down transformer will never be pushed for audio applications such as this. No noticeable noise, hum or heat, fast shipping.

So it does what it’s supposed to unless I move it by even a slightest bit. Then it doesn’t work at all. When I have it power on there is sometimes a very noticeable hum. If I move the unit I have to wiggle the cord at the base where it connects. If I turn it over it comes on again with the loud hum. I use it to play my Japanese Sega Saturn. If I unplug something while it’s on and plugged in it stops working. There aren’t a whole lot of options out there but read the other reviews. If you’re thinking of asking would I buy another the answer would be a resounding no. Looks nice. Sometimes works great. Other times not so good. My guess is they have poor quality control on the cord. If you choose to buy one I hope you have better luck than I did.

I bought this to power a Japanese minidisc player. It is very well built and a linear power supply. There is no noise on the analog side and its hefty weights a fair bit. The unit and packaging is very well done it almost reminds me of a product from Eversolo or something. I would recommend this as a great option for any japanese audio products in North America.

This is for Japanese units! Step down for 120v to 100v. This unit is solid build very well made. Works as expected! Very happy highly recommended. Yes I would purchase again!! I’m using for a Japanese turntable!

Fantastic product, but bigger than expected and also I sort of wish there was a 300w version available since 500 is truly overkill for my stereo system... but oh well!

I bought this a few weeks ago to power a Japanese HD VCR which only accepts 100V. I checked the output with a multimeter and it shows 99.7V, and the VCR is working happily so far. I can't see what's inside but it's quite heavy, the exterior design is nice, and I don't have any problem with the cable staying in the power outlets as the outlet is very tight and takes a bit of force to get the cable into. If it continues working I'll be very happy with it.

I bought this as a step-down voltage converter for a Japanese Yamaha DX7 synth. It works perfectly, runs cool… and the output as measured by a multimeter is exactly as advertised. Build quality seems to be excellent… it does the job well.
