Definitely helps with the projection of the speaker and the mic. I use my echo dot to control my TV and play music and I wanted to see the LEDs light when the device hears the wake word(s). This stand is perfect. Our dot was in the family room tucked behind the tv and we wanted to move it into the living room and be more centrally located. Flat on a table just wasn't going to cut it so I searched for something to help it be more noticeable. I wasn't quite sure exactly what I was looking for but I found this holder and voila this was my answer. ### ⭐⭐ OK holder but... *by C***L on Reviewed in the United States on February 13, 2019* Holds the Echo Dot very securely, once it's in be very careful making ANY kind of adjustments. I was super concerned that it was going to scratch or snag the speaker material but LUCKLY it didn't. (Make sure you get it centered on the first try or there is a slim chance of snagging the speaker material)BUT... in this new upright position... The sound quality from Echo Dot makes Alexa "HISS" which is very off putting so, I'm returning it. Once I put Dot back on my desk, the sound quality went back to perfect normal.Also, there isn't anything in the item description saying what it is made of. It's plastic, I was very surprised when I took it out of the packaging of how flimsy it felt.
