Sony PlayStation 2 Console - Black (Renewed)

I ordered a ps2 from these guys and was super excited to receive it! Been wanting to play my GTA: vice city like crazy! It shipped fast and was packaged very well. Everything went easy installing as always with these consoles. The game played for a minute then stopped reading the disk. So I tried multiple games to make sure it wasn't my disk and sure enough, it wouldn't read at all. I reached out to the company and they accepted my return for a replacement console! I won't be able to ship mine out until tomorrow but they already have my replacement on the way!!! Very professional and very satisfied so far with the process. I'm hoping my replacement works just fine and will update once I get it! No need to make a scene when it comes to refurbished electronics. It is a gamble buying these things but they were quick on replacing it! Thanks guys! Update!!! Got my new one in the mail today and it works PERFECTLY!! So happy they quickly got me a replacement. The controller up and down buttons don't work, but it's okay because I have plenty other working controllers. Y'all are amazing and will recommend you guys to anyone looking for a refurbished console!

Mine came in smashed on one corner causing the eject button to be lose. I had to fix it myself and tape it to keep it in place because they sent me one that wants to literally fall apart. Other than that it works just fine with no issues so I didn’t return it. If you can, I would say buy one somewhere else or in person so you don’t risk getting a damaged one here. They also advertise an official Sony ps2 controller but I received a cheap knockoff.

Like I'm sure a lot of use old gamers, a refurbished console is a hit or miss. I took a gamble and so far it paid off! It works just like I remembered! It's even reading my original ps2 saves just fine! It was shipped it very protective packaging! Double boxed! The console came pretty dusty, but I'd rather have dust than it not working! Mine will sometimes make a studering sound when I turn it on and off. I did buy a protection plan especially for a refurbished console. Which I would recommend. I'm hoping the sound doesn't develop into something else. But as if right now, it's absolutely perfect for a refurbished old console!

Works good, no complaints

Almost perfect. There's this weird visual bug in the main menu where the orbs of light freeze but the system itself doesn't.

Anyone reading this already knows they want one if they don't have one. I gave mine away to a nephew, best friend bought me a replacement and the seller lied about the quality, I used to repair consoles so this wasn't an issue at first, when I took it apart it was filled with dead roaches and they had urinated all over the board ruining it. This prompted me to purchase the one I just received which is in beautiful condition and works flawlessly. I even have a backup disc drive if ever needed. I recommend getting an HDMI to PS2 adapter and making sure you have a good OEM controller. The knockoffs always feel cheaply made.

Well this one was broken. We got it for a present, so I didnt test it when we got it. I know, my bad. It has something rattling around inside and clicks like the fan blade hits something when it runs, which makes it super loud. It did run a game, but load screens took several minutes, instead of seconds like they are supposed to. This was a refurbished model. So I basically got stolen from. My advice, plug it in and run it immediately if you buy from this seller. Return it if it isnt working. Immediately.

This console was missing a large part from it. I'm not 100% sure what the part was, but it functions without it. Keep in mind I've had one of these back when they weren't old. I know for a fact there is indeed something that belongs there. It freezes more frequently than my old Xbox 360 - which has had a running problem with that behavior - so be warned that games that can have major consequences for not saving frequently may be higher risk to play. I found the behavior of the console a pinch suspicious when I first turned it on, to be honest. A PlayStation 2 has a startup screen that displays an animation followed by a black screen with moving orbs and the options "browser" and "system configuration". It was during this black screen stage that I found my first clue as to a weaker console in performance. The orbs are supposed to move around each other in a pattern on the original console. This one lacked that motion and all the orbs simply merged into one stationary ball. I figured right from the start that that meant there was something wrong. I tested it with a bunch of my old games along with a couple new ones. The single player only games worked alright, but froze often. These were games I'd kept in peak condition, mind you. The most annoying part is that every game I inserted into the machine that had a multiplayer mode (yes, that was the only feature that they had in common) would never load. I sat for over fifteen minutes on each of them in the browser (where it will show you when a disc loads up) and it never registered a disc being present. This is a huge flaw, considering the best games I have for the PS2 are all multiplayer capable ones. Once again, remember that these discs were kept in peak condition. They are not to blame. Finally, I must point out that the disc tray's front cover popped off with only the slightest bit of force. I wouldn't expect any better from an old console like this, but it's worth mentioning. All-in-all, I regret this purchase. I'll be trying to find another one. If I'd been the one to keep my old console, I never would have bought this in the first place. But I wasn't. A different family member inherited it, instead.

I'll be honest, I was very skeptical about buying a gaming console from Amazon. But I've heard good things about the gaming return policies and quality through Amazon so I went for it. I'm very pleased so far! The console came packaged very well with no damage to the package or the console. The console is clean and works well! The controller is an original controller that also works. Pretty stoked that it all worked out so well!

Es un artículo muy viejo, es verdad. Pero, estaba emocionado porque lo quería, el artículo está “funcionando” pero, el lector se traba, ni sale. Si enciende, si hay imagen, si te interesa hackearla adelante. Se ve funcional pero no está excelente. Entiendo que pues es un artículo que ya no se produce y tiene sus años, lo normal. 😑
