The base of the bottom basket is the same as an average dinner plate. The second basket up is about the size of a salad plate. It doesn't look like it is too large or bulky to fit on a countertop. The baskets are made of sturdy black metal and don't give or wobble when loaded up. Better than a two-tiered tray, if this is what you want.
