Works great, looks great
This has become one of my most used appliances! It brings water to a boil in half the time it takes in the microwave, let alone the stove. Not only does this save time when making tea (which I use it for multiple times a day,) but I also use it to bring water to a boil to save time when cooking things such as pasta or steamed vegetables. (Pour the boiling water into the preheated cooking pot/pan, don't attempt to cook in this kettle!) I also sometimes take it out of the kitchen so I can have a second/third/seventh cup of tea while working in my home office or watching tv. This kettle is pretty- it looks good on your counter, and nice enough to use for serving guests in a more formal setting. I got the silver tile color, and the silver design is actually metallic, not a flat grey. I hosted a tea party themed shower with pots of loose leaf tea. I was able to quickly and conveniently heat water to fill and refill the teapots because of this kettle, and got many compliments on it. The kettle is incredibly easy to use and maintain. I follow the manual's cleaning and care instructions, and mine is still working and looking like new, despite heavy use and hard water. I love the safety automatic off switch. Another feature I love is that the cord can be wound up and stored under the base. 2021 edit: The original kettle I reviewed is still working fantastically, even after a cross-country move. I recently decided to get a second kettle for my home office, so I can make tea at my desk without having to haul the kettle from the kitchen every day, or go without it in my kitchen. (Yes, I use and love it that much!) After trying another brand and receiving a dud I returned it and went for my beloved Bella model. However, this one was defective. I filled it with water halfway between the minimum and maximum full lines, placed it on the base, and flipped the switch and nothing happened. I’m not sure if this was a defective product, if the quality has dropped in the last 6 months, or if this was simply damaged in shipping: it arrived in the original box with no outer Amazon box, and the box was dented/scratched up and had large holes punched on either side (Amazon, take note: I would have been furious if I’d intended to give this as a gift.) so it had clearly received a lot of very rough treatment during shipping. I chose to leave my rating at 5 stars as I do feel it’s an excellent product and assume I had some bad luck with damage done during shipping, but I admit my confidence in the brand is a little shaken.

Nice looking product with a blue light around when on
If you like the look of copper, this is a nice item. Very handy to make hot water for various reasons. Just set it and forget it until done. Works pretty quickly. I like it! -Cindy

Beautiful kettle, great design, slightly small.
I love almost everything about this kettle. I had a metal kettle before, so I especially love how it heats up quickly, quietly, and turns itself off without whistling. I also love that I don't have to worry if I turned the stove off after I used it. The inside is mostly ceramic, with only a metal base and heating element. I live in an area that has a lot of hard water, which destroyed the inside of my metal kettle, but this one has been holding up fine. The design is as pictured, and I really love it. Downsides: It is significantly heavier than my metal kettle (obviously), and the outside does get quite warm after boiling water. Granted, the base and handle stay cool, but since it's so heavy, my instinct is to hold the side. My main complaint is the size. We use it in the mornings for a large french press and two bowls of instant oatmeal, and it barely makes enough for this. This probably just means I need a bigger kettle, but be warned that 1.2L felt like a lot less than I was hoping for. Giving it 5 stars because the only complaints I have are based on my needs, not on the actual design and function of the kettle.

Works GREAT!
Our old teapot died so we bought this one for a replacement. Both are the Bella brand and our old one lasted several years under heavy use before going dead. This one heats the tea water very quickly and we use it for tea and coffee both. Very happy with the Bella brand and we're also happy with the aesthetic appeal of the ceramic exterior. This is a really good tea kettle and the fact we don't have to put it on the stove is a big plus. The base heats up the water pretty quick and that just makes this tea pot very useful! Very happy with this purchase and we highly recommend!

Beautiful but hefty
This kettle is really beautiful and a good size. Be aware that being made of thick ceramic it is quite substantial in weight and when filled with water even more so. The main body of the outside does get quite hot so it is a bit difficult for someone with arthritic hands to handle. The reasons I didn't give it five stars is that it takes a long time for a full kettle to come to a boil and the on/off switch does not automatically turn off as it should when the water boils.

Exceeds My Expectations, Still Very Happy After One Year
I no longer drink coffee and was using my Kcup machine for hot water for my tea. My machine is getting old and not working very well so I decided I better find a convenient way to heat water quickly and save the machine for kcups only ( others drink coffee). Very pleased with this kettle so far. I wanted a ceramic kettle and although I didn't care for the modern tile design, I decided that this kettle best met my needs for a ceramic kettle. It's much larger than I imagined but I can handle it fine and I don't mind the design ( silver tile) even though it is a bit contemporary for my taste. The thing I really love about this kettle is that it heats so quickly that I don't have to wait but just two minutes ( if that) for a very hot cup of tea. I don't wait for a rapid boil. As soon as I see steam coming out of the neck, I turn it off and the water is PLENTY hot. The handle doesn't get hot and the lid doesn't get hot but the body does of course so one must be careful not to touch it. The lid is secure/won't fall off but I still hold it out of habit when pouring and it helps keep the pot balanced. I like that it has a removable base. The plug is a heavy duty three prong grounded plug and it is recommended that you use a dedicated receptacle which I don't have so what I do is not run anything else from that receptacle while heating. The only other thing I use that receptacle for is my can opener and so, I'm not concerned. It's made in China which disappoints me and I hope it lasts. I normally don't like many small appliances in my kitchen but this kettle is definitely worth the purchase since I don't have to turn on my stove and heat a kettle( and my kitchen) for ten minutes for one cup of tea. After one year of use the only thing I've noticed is that the heating time does slow down a bit but I also noticed that when I descale it, it seems to heat faster. So maybe the lime scale slows it down? I've not had any cracks or other problems. As far as weight goes, I don't like filling it at the sink because it's a bit hefty so I keep a bottle of filtered water to use for refilling. UPDATE Nov. 1, 2018: As of July 2017, I owned this Bella kettle for one year with no problems other than it's heavier than I can handle at this point ( I have a lot of MS weakness symptoms due to Lyme). Yesterday, I noticed that my countertop was covered in water. In the direct sunlight, I was able to see water droplets forming quickly in a ring around the kettle. The kettle had formed a crack right where the wider base meets the more narrow top half. Oh well. I got a lot of use from it. My only warning is that no one who has dexterity problems or muscle weakness should use this.

Yes, there is plastic inside the kettle, and yes there is a plastic-chemical smell
Okay, so I just received the 1.5L ceramic kettle with the pretty silver clover design. It's lovely, and I have to say that it works great. It's not too heavy when filled, holds 6 cups of water, and boils those 6 cups pretty quickly. I haven't experienced any cracks or leaking, and the spout works as it should. Also, the on/off switch works great, flipping itself off once the water is at boiling temp, which, for 6 cups of water, it does so in very little time. I've started it up 6 times now, just to make sure it works and to clear the PLASTIC smell from it. Yes. PLASTIC. Ugh. I really like this kettle, but I was under the impression that this didn't contain plastic on the inside. I seriously hope the plastic smell completely goes away in time because it's definitely there, just as others have mentioned in their reviews. There are questions about this and opposing answers about whether or not there is plastic inside this thing. Yes, there is. There is not only a plastic seal along the lid, as others have stated, but each metal rivet that connects the ceramic part of the kettle to the metal inside at the base includes a thin, clear plastic gasket for a total of 6 plastic rings. And yes, those plastic rings do, in fact, come into contact with the boiling water. They can't help but to - I mean, they're all along the bottom of the inside of the kettle. People who are saying there is no plastic either haven't bothered to closely inspect the inside base or they're blind. I will say that soapy water and a good scrub helped, as well as completely removing the plastic seal from the lid and giving it an even better scrub before replacing. There seemed to be some kind of oily residue left behind along that seal the first time I boiled water, but the soap removed it and it hasn't returned. Now, the smell is definitely much, much lighter after having boiled water it in several times, but it's still there when I stick my nose inside the kettle. I'm sensitive to these kinds of smells, though, and my husband says he doesn't smell anything. Another issue to note is how flimsy the base is. It's the thinnest possible plastic with absolutely no weight to it and scratches and scuffs all over it right out of the box. To say it's chintzy is an understatement. But it works. Everything works great. So I'll give this thing a chance and boil water a number more times to see if that plastic smell continues to dissipate because I do love the look and feel of this thing that much, and I've had a near impossible time finding a tea kettle that contains zero plastic parts without other risk factors such as being overly delicate, like the borosilicate glass ones, cracking, or leaking. Do I recommend it? Well, that all depends on how important it is that your kettle be completely void of all plastics in contact with the boiling water. If that is your concern, you'll have to skip this kettle. With that said, I notice that the box never says it's plastic-free, so I can't say that the company is being misleading, and the bits of plastic are rather minimal compared to others with the plastic viewing windows. Really quite torn about this one because the kettle itself is really nice! : (
