NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER Jamie Oliver--one of the bestselling cookbook authors of all time--is back with a bang. Focusing on incredible combinations of just five ingredients, he's created 130 brand-new recipes that you can cook up at home, any day of the week. From salads, pasta, chicken, and fish to exciting ways with vegetables, rice and noodles, beef, pork, and lamb, plus a bonus chapter of sweet treats, Jamie's got all the bases covered. This is about maximum flavor with minimum fuss, lots of nutritious options, and loads of epic inspiration. This edition has been adapted for US market. Review: Another great book by Jamie - The recipes are so quick and so easy and taste so good. You can feel even through the book as you can by watching him on the television that this man loves what he does. Review: LOVE THIS! Easy recipes- it's teaching me how to add flavor easily - I buy a lot of cookbooks - love reading cookbooks and can usually find a few favorite new recipes in each. I have never posted a cookbook review before - just haven't had such a strong reaction to other books. I have found, by far, the most new recipes that we will continue to eat repeatedly over time from this book than any other I have gotten in the past few years. This is due to the simplicity of prep and what seems like gourmet results. Some reviewers mention unusual ingredients .... Yes, since the recipes use only 5 ingredients, I am finding these ingredients that are new to me, are an EASY way to add great depth of flavor easily - without having to combine tiny bits of many individual seasonings and spices. I am also finding that many of the asian pastes or sauces listed are easy to find at my grocery store and prevent me from needing to spend a lot of time building sauces or marinades. I am enjoying learning how to use these and am amazed at the results I'm getting from the recipes. My family has loved the recipes I have tried so far. The recipes are low carb, healthy and follow my Dr's recommendations for healthy eating AND are delicious. (Let's be honest, healthy and delicious are not always BOTH used to describe the same recipe) I love that these recipes are quick and do-able for dinner on a work night. I would highly recommend this book to people who love food, are open to trying new flavor profiles and are trying to simplify meal prep.

Easy, Fast & FUN!
I've been cooking for more than 45 years. I am at the point in life, while I enjoy really good food I am TIRED of the work and time, so many fancy dishes require. Yet, I still want to try new things. This book was PERFECT! Each recipe only uses 5 ingredient (not the same 5 over & over) but many different ones. I am also trying new things I have not tried before. Unlike some people who have complained over slightly "different" or less common ingredients (like mango chutney) - which I found right in my local grocery store, I have not had any issues finding anything. Many if not all the recipes, are able to be prepared in 12 - 15 minutes. The other thing I LOVE that he gives the total calorie breakdown per serving, carbs, fats, sodium, etc. so if you need to know that or if you are say a diabetic, it is easy for you. The recipes are for two people, so NO leftovers! You can double the amounts, if you need to cook for say 4 people. I cannot recommend any cook book.... more highly, for fast, easy and fun meals.

Wonderful easy recipes
Great food with easy to cook recipes. First day I made the Super Green Spaghetti along with the Smoky Chorizo Salmon. Next day I made the Quick Asian Fishcakes and had it with the leftover Super Green Spaghetti. Everything was delicious and reheated well. Even the leftover fishcakes were delicious reheated in the microwave two days later. Iโm Only disappointed that the books cover and binding were already broken and peeling at the edges. Iโm not returning the book because it was only $19.99 and if I had purchased it at Barnes and Noble the book would have been close to the $35.00 price on the cover. Itโs not worth $35.00 in the bad condition I received it but with free shipping and $19.99 Amazon Prime price I can buy some type of adhesive laminate and fix it to last for ten to twenty years. Itโs not a lifetime quality book like my other cookbooks but I love the recipes and the pictures are gorgeous. The Food I made with Jamie Oliverโs recipes were done with little effort and were super delicious. Delicious food made easily is the main purpose of my purchase and Iโm happy with the quality of the contents! Give it a go and youโll be amazed at how great the food tastes when following heโs easy to make recipes.

5 Ingredients by Jamie Oliver
Love this book. A picture of each ingredient in each recipe made it so easy to follow. Also liked the healthy recipes.

I went from Zero to Hero in the Kitchen!
My wife tells me this book has turned me into a gourmet chef overnight. I'm a husband in his 40's and I don't cook anything in the kitchen (my wife does all the cooking). I bought this book and I've cooked my 4th "gourmet" style meal now after having the book for a few weeks. And now my wife says my dishes are better than hers! The recipes are easy to follow. Look, I used to never cook in the kitchen but, with this book, I'm now cooking gourmet "looking" meals! The recipes in this book are easy to follow. Among a few of the recipes I've cooked so far are the Easy Sausage Carbonara, Smoky Chorizo Salmon, and Sticky Pork Stir Fry. Yesterday my wife and I ate an appetizer calamari at a Thai restaurant and had drinks. Afterwards, we went home and I cooked the Asian Tuna Steak Salad and it was better than the calamari we had at the Thai Restaurant! What I will say is there is always one ingredient among the 5 ingredients that may be hard to find. For me, I check Walmart.Com to see if there are any local stores that have the ingredient I need. Also, the local Pavillions Supermarket (here in Southern California) seems to have the ingredients I need a lot of the time. So far, after cooking 4 meals, I haven't had to buy any ingredients from Amazon. There are actually more than 5 ingredients needed per recipe. Salt, Pepper, Oil are always needed but you'll likely be asked to use Red Wine Vinegar. But to me, this is fine because, apparently, every kitchen should have Red Wine Vinegar. I love this book and it was well worth the over $20 we spent to buy it! Hopefully there are more books like this for after I've gone through all most of the recipes over the next few months!

GREAT RECIPES, BUT INGREDIENTS ON SHOW ARE DIFFERENT THAN IN BOOK
I absolutely LOVE Jamie Oliver and was so impressed with his show, "Quick & Easy" that I immediately bought this book. I tried one recipe and was shocked how fast it was. Loved the taste and it felt elegant in such a short time. Couldn't wait to pick the next to try. But sadly, I have to give this 3 stars, and here is the reason why: On the show, I knew right away I wanted to make his "Ginger Shakin' Beef." Before the book even arrived I searched out the red miso paste he said to use on his show. Also, went to a Chinese market to check out pak choi. I get the book and the recipe calls for white miso paste and bok choy. (His recipe for this on line just says miso paste -- no color mentioned.) Now, to be clear, he did say in the show the pak choi can be substituted for bok choi. No problem. Wouldn't affect my rating. Also, he says on the show, and at first it's is written on the screen, "sirloin steak" and then later "strip loin." I figured the terms must be interchangeable, but according to butchers, no. Hmmmm..... Still "do-able." However, red vs. white miso paste is a very different taste. Which do I use? Out of the 5 ingredients to get, three are different in the book than on the show. I don't mind the interchangeability of bok choy and pad choi. I would imagine publishers thought bok choy was easier to get (true!) and less scary to those in areas that don't have Chinese markets. Fine. Understandable. Sirloin or strip loin? I'll just go with my preference. But white miso and red miso are VERY different. Which one is it Jamie???? If I had never seen the show, and just got the book, I wouldn't have this conflict. And I would have most likely rated it 5 stars. I would have preferred, however, that what he says on the show and what he writes in this book to be consistent. However, I am still so impressed with his ideas and and the speed and elegance of these dishes. Several reviewers said the ingredients were not your usual. No, some of them are not. Neither is the results! So stretch out a bit if you don't have miso paste in your cupboard (whichever color) and enjoy the results. If you live where some of his ingredients are hard to find, order them on Amazon. And many of his recipes, actually the bulk, do not ask for such unusual items. Once you have incorporated the few he asks for, they will become your new norm and you will become a cook with more interesting and easy results. Another complaint was that he had European measurements. This edition has been switched over to American measurements. So no problem there. Truly, if it wasn't for the ingredient discrepancy, this book earns a 5 star plus! Great ideas. Quick to make.
