Learn to make hundreds of ties and bends to connect line to hooks, leaders, lures, nets, traps, and seines. Jam-packed with practical valuable information for fishermen everywhere, this handbook describes the hundreds of ties and bends used to connect line to the many types and kinds of hooks, leaders, lures, nets, traps, and seines. The text and illustrations are amply detailed and so clear that all guesswork is eliminated. The making and repairing of nets is thoroughly covered, as well as the making and repairing of seines and traps. With this guidebook in hand the novice can learn to make good nets and traps in a very short time. The veteran fisherman will find it an indispensable reference tool. Whether you fish for fun or to make a living, this is a valuable addition to your tackle box Review: If you want to learn knots, then this is the book for you! - Fisherman's Knots and Nets This books contains loads of pictures that simplifies how to tie the knot. Besides the pictures, there is a text detailing each knot except where the knot is self explanatory. In addition to that, there is also the name(s) of the knot and sometimes a brief history of the knot itself. Also the author has the usage of the knot and whether it is a safe knot to use, or strictly ornamental. The description of each knot varies with the knot itself. The book covers fisherman's knot, commercial knots, and various types of nets that can be employed to catch fish. There is also net making, including the repairing of nets which is essential even if you use the net moderately when you go fishing. This then is the "bible" of the industry. Personally, I'm glad I bought the book. Just wish it came in hardcover instead of soft cover as hardcover books generally tend to last longer. So far, I'm halfway through the book and have tried to tie just about every knot I've read about, except for the real fancy ones - nylon string just doesn't seem to do those fancy ties justice, cordage or rope is needed. Review: Knot and net tying source book - This item is well researched and will make for a great source book and review for net tying and knot tying related to the sea, for anyone in need of such a book for learning or review. I recommend this book for those also practicing survival skills, as being caught in areas without a fishing pole and bait source, would also do well to learn these skills. It also makes for a great source book for families who spend time camping, and for scouting troops, as well as those of us trying to review skills that were left untapped for a bit. :)

Almost overwhelmed
This book has a plethora of fishing knots that I will probably never use. My main point for purchasing this book was to learn to tie a fishing net and there is A LOT TO O LEARN. Not a simple thing to accomplish. I am look on YouTube for a demonstration but Iโm sure the demo will be exhaustingly LONG. With that statedโฆ. the book is a great resource and a wealth of information.

Great book.
Yes, this book has a lot of text, specially hard for a dislรฉxico like me. But reading the โboringโ text and following the step-by-step pics, I not just made a nice net, I also made a prototype of a hammock. Iโm very pleased with this whole book.

Fisherman's Knots and Nets
Although the pictures are in black and white, the directions were fairly easy to follow. I thought it overall helpful. I want to keep this book in my library.

YAKB (Yet Another Knot Book)
I am not impressed with this book, it does have a few highlights of information, though most of the illustration are poorly made and outright confusing. If you want to know the different net and knot type this is the book for you, if you want to LEARN how to make the nets and knots, there are other and better books, sorry hands down on this book

Worth the money!
I wanted to learn how to make and mend nets but couldn't find the exact info I was looking for. As you would expect, there is limited material on this niche subject. The book contained exactly what I was looking for... gamble.. relief!
